Ok so ive noticed that if a girl turns down a guy by saying "Sorry no i just like you more as a brother"

It hurts them more than us girls just saying "no i dont want to go out with you" whats so wrong about a girl liking you more as a brother or why do you hate them saying that if you like them if you dont understand just tell me and ill put more deatils

Ive only said this once because after i saw the reaction of the boy i thought i had done something really hurt full so now i just say thanks but im not interstead or something like that but i just wanted to know why it hurt them so bad

When a guy asks a girl out and she says that she doesn't feel that way about you, there is a feeling of rejection, but, that's just a part of life. To add, I like you more as a brother, somehow makes the feelings of rejection worse.

What I appreciate most, is if a woman were to say something like, "Thank you very much for asking but I'm not interested." I hate it when women don't want to go out with me but say something like, "Oh, I'd love to go out, but I'm busy then." And then they continue to be busy every time I ask. I would much rather have them say, "No, I'm not interested."

Its because when girls say that they like a guy more like a brother the guy thinks that you never liked them and always saw them as part of the family. When if a girl says no I don't want to go out with you it is more straightforward and that's the way guys are. If you make it too complicated they will think too much and it will hurt their little brains.

You're leading us on...
We spend a lot of time, effort, and thought into trying to ask you out and then we just get a ZERO chance of going out because you've already determined the guy as a friend. There is nothing that can be done, ever.

So, the girl still expects the sweetness of the guy for all the effort he put in-- but the guy only gets a friend-- not even a best friend because that title belongs to a girl, no matter what anybody says. (rephrased: A girl's best friend is always another girl.)

It's also a lame story and you can't compblitch (complain + another word heh) with other guys when you talk about how much women suck.


This is what most guys think-- I personally happen to not mind it.

Not to offend you, but "Sorry I only like you as a brother" is asshole speak for "I'm just too good for you!"...& I don't know if you noticed it or not but girls nowadays have a real nasty habit of doing that **** to everyone...all you girls keep f*cking around like this and nobody will be getting with nobody and you can kiss the human race goodbye! Problem is somewhere along the line, every mother told every daughter the lie that Mr. Perfect is out there..& so you ladies search...never noticing the good guys right in front of your faces, & society adds materialism to those words of wisdom & you got the current state of affairs in love...plus men are'nt being taught anymore what it takes to be a man, you ladies need to remember, we men are more clueless than you in matters of the heart & we will both win if you can show us a little more compassion! Chivalry is dead, the feminist movement has won, you're now our equals..so please act like it! We can't do it all alone, we don't have the brains for it!

Cuz they would rather just here 'no', then hear 'no, it would feel like i'm dating a family member & that's sick' They don't wanna be ur brother, if ur gonna turn them down, they just want 2 leave it @ that, they don't wanna have 2 be like a brother 2 (that's how it comes off 2 them)

I understand you because it's like a cheap let down. I'd much really you get staight to the point then to lead me on and tell me "oh your like a brother" or "I don't want to date you because your a good friend". I'd much rather girls be blunt with guys then tryna sugar coat everything you know?

it is softening the blow...when you wanted to say...i want nothing to do with you...

No, I hate the Cubs the main, then the Twins, then the pink Wings, then the Packers so i assume I hate 2 communities from baseball formerly I hate communities from the different game. i'm a White Sox, Blackhawks, Bears fan btw.

I think because telling them "I don't want to go out with you" does not necessarily mean "I will never go out with you." They like this better because there's a chance you would say yes later. It sounds like no for now but better luck next time!

If you tell them "I just like you as my brother" it's almost the same as saying "I will never ever (not even in my scariest dream) think of going out with you." They hate this because they think you're thinking it would be disgusting or sick to go out with them. It sounds like a no forever.
