there is only one breed of boxers - that is the breed - there are a lot of different bloodlines that have different ( dominate traits )

does your dog look like this ?

did you get any papers? DId you look at the parents? did you ask the breeder what were the parents BEFORE spending 600$? Its always a good idea before spending that kind of money to do a ton of research on the potential dog. Call the breeders ask about the dog, then I would ask to look at the parents. If they dont alow you then they arent good breeders at all and lodge a complaint. Especially after paying over a half grand for a dog. It could be that the dog is poorly bred and just has a diffrent facial structure. You wont really know unless you did an extensive blood test to find out.
Please dont believe anyone that says they can tell what your dog is by looking at a picture. BALONEY there is no way to tell. Some Boxers can look pitty if they are badly bred and dont have conformation heads.
WAKISHEA its possible to have papers on a crap bred mutt, it depends on what papers you have. If its AKC or UKC your pretty safe that its purebred, any other one and you run the risk that they registered dogs falsely. Some clubs only require a 3 gen written pedigree and you got papers. AKC has to have extensive paper work, pictures, and a final inspection of the animal before you paper a dog that previously didnt have papers. AKC doesnt though stop badly bred dogs from being bred. As long as the parents have registration numbers and you pay the fee the litter will be registered wether or not they are conformation or well bred dogs.

Well if you payed that much then you should of gotten papers on your dog!! your dog would be registered as a boxer if its a boxer puerbreed!!! So if you have the papers and have it registered with the AKC then you know its full boxer !! Go look at boxer pictures on the boxer web site, boxer look diferent sometime, some may have a larger head or mouth or something and when they are young they look different until they get older and fill out more, the head gets bigger and the jawls drop down ! you also know a boxer by how they act and how they box with there paws!! they will jump up on you alot too and always use there paws as if they were Hands!! they will hold onto you with them and hit you with them!! they box other dogs that can't box them back !! thats why there called boxers !!

Hi. Boxers are funny, one day they look boxer, then all of a sudden they look pitt. My opinion is if it is a cross, it's a bonus! I personally think it's the best of both worlds, they seem to bring out the best of both breeds. Loving and protective without the mean ever kicking in, althou I treat mine like children, which in a way they are! More loyal and trustworthy than some family or friends. The only problem is that they get so attatched to their primary owner that separation anxiety can be a issue. I now have a couple crossed w/ border collie, now there's a strange mix!!!
Bottom line Boxer pitt crosses are the best in my book..Not real imparchal I guess! LOL any corespondance is welcome, enjoy your pup!!!!! They're people too LOL,

Even AKC papers do not guarantee that your dog is purebred. People are not adverse to lying on registrations but AKC is trying to prevent that by requiring DNA on the males.

You could have your dogs' DNA checked but it is costly.

You don't say if you got your dog from a reputable and responsible breeder, a pet shop, or a back yard breeder?

Some boxers can have longer or shorter snouts than others. This isn't a bad thing, your dog will probably have an easier time breathing, be able to tolerate warm weather and exercise better.

Did you buy the dog, or was it given to you?
Are there papers?

It's very common for people with pits to call them boxers, to prevent negative reactions.

You paid $600.00 for him, surely you got papers with him for that amount.. You can't register with AKC unless the mother and father are both pure bred dogs..
Here is a pic of my Boxer...
I think he has a longer nose than some others I seen and he is full blooded..

If you got papers with the dog then he is purebreed..

It is illegal to sell a dog to someone claiming he is purebreed with papers and it isnt...

Also their are different breeds of boxers..Im pretty sure.
