I always tell people (people who know I like to tease) that it's because they're mouth breathers. I mean it looks like if they'd close they're mouths problem would be solve...haha
But I a guessing there is more to it?

People snore because their air passages are not open all the way when they sleep. So it makes it a little more difficult for them to breath. Causing Snoreing.

Afterall, I snore and I'm not married.
I have no idea what makes me snore... I snore even with my mouth closed.
