I work in aerospace. I manage engineering teams that do RF and photonics engineering related to UAV and other aircraft. We build the sensors, arrays, and electronics that keep them flying. It is interesting stuff if you like hardware. You can also do software, which keeps them in the air, or mission planning etc.

YEAH ARMY AVIATION HOOAH!!! Go army all the way! They have a specific MOS for it.. just like the first guy described. I'm army aviation.. and they're trying to make it so that MOS gets wings when they graduate AIT now too!!! So you'd totally be welcome into the Army Aviation world! I LOVE IT! So relaxed and it does seem like a really cool job! I'm sure you could get a job once you got out of the military too, making GOOD money.. even working for the military still and doing the same exact job you did while you were in. That's what's awesome about army aviation. Some people i worked with while they were in.. i still work with.. but they're a civilian now and make more money than both of us did put together while the person was still IN! So it's funny how that works. but if you have the miltary experience.. they're more likely to hire you.

The Air Force has a whole base full of folks who maintain, deploy and operate UAVs. It's Creech Air Force Base, about forty five miles northeast of Las Vegas. The Predator is being augmented by a larger version called the Reaper.
The URL below will take you the story about it landing at Creech.

The Army MOS: Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operator (96U).

If you are looking at the USMC, remember that you can't pick your specific MOS.

I wanted to add: UAVs are an emerging technology that the military is using to great success. It would probably be a GREAT career choice to get into early.

A co-worker of mine is an E-7 UAV operator and he loves it. Plus you don't get shot at too much. Just know that it can be boring work, for long hours.
