The Weapon of Prayer

Eph. 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

It's time to pray saints of God. When people harm you, or misuse you.
When they slander your name, lie on you, or disregard your very own
desire to do the right thing. When you have changed, yet they will not let
you live down your past, or when you stand for the truth and yet they
tear you down, it's time to pray! Prayer is our weapon, not gossip,
backbiting, slander, or violence! We as believers don't react to a
spiritual devil by fighting in the physical realm. You can always tell a very
immature Christian, because when they get upset or hurt, they will
always revert back to worldly methods of revenge. But God said "HE" would
fight our battles.

Prayer is your weapon! You can deal with the devil through prayer and
if you are strategic, you can overcome his attacks! And when you develop
a strong warfare prayer life, those enemies will reap the very attacks
they are casting upon you! In other words, praying for them and
wishing them no harm will cause God to react! God said in Prov. 6:17 , he
hates "hands that shed innocent blood" and that's not just talking about
death, but it's talking about hurting people that mean you no harm! We
must never forget that God requires us to pray for those that do us
wrong and that's not a weak cop out, but that puts your enemies in the
hands of God for him to take revenge for you! So, again I say, pray instead
of retaliating. When you are attacked and you feel that you have been
wronged, pray for them and watch the vengeance of the Lord set it
straight. Remember, God said "Touchnot my anointed" and if you are chosen
by him, the anointing resides within you!

Yes and when I pray I use the WORD in my prayers. The sword of the Spirit. My two edged sword. I have found that using God's word (scripture) in my prayers has more power.

Paul reminds us that we have spiritual authority and blessings in the unseen or Heavenly realms.
The good news is that satan and his forces have been defeated and disarmed (Col 2:15). Consequently there's no need for believers to fear
their spiritual enemy. While satan still has the freedom to tempt and harass Christians, he has no direct authority over them, The Armour of God pictures the protection Jesus gives us against demonic attack.

Spiritual warfare for believers, therefore, is fought in the mind, emotions and the will. Scriptural truth is our primary line of defence through knowing God's word and praying.

That's why Paul frequently urges us to be renewed in our minds( Romans12:1-1-2); Col. 3:1-3). The more our minds are filled with the truth of God's word, the less susceptible we are to satan's deceptions and temptations.

However, because satan still rules the unbelieving
world, we will on occasion have to confront satan's work in peoples lives (for example, Acts 13:9-12. To dislodge satan's influence in someones life a supernatural encounter of God's power and truth may be required.

I think its a problem when you use prayer and weapon together. If we fail to pray for others in love and always that Gods will be done then its hard to imagine using them together. Just maybe when those around you gossip, slander etc maybe your prayer could be that God give you the words to be a peacemaker and help heal and not judge for we all fail at times but be love for them in those moments when it is most difficult. Amen!!! The chapter also talks about putting on the full armor of God, by praying and putting on the armor we are shielded against the attacks. I believe those who are older and stronger in the Lord need to stand and cover the babes in Christ. In the wild predators go after the young or wounded, so instead of judging them we need cover them, and teach them to fight.

AMEN and AMEN!! Go, you little preacher girl!!!

Indeed, I sure do use my weapon! Prayer has been my source of peace, joy, immeasurable love, strength and yes, my weapon in warfare. It is simply a fact that we battle spiritually and that is why I have to stay in conversation (prayer) with Him! I want to overcome my weaknesses but, I cannot do it alone; however, through prayer, "I can do all things through Jesus Christ, who strengthens me."

Wonderful question!

WoW! WoW! WoW!
that wuz very encouraging.
I've been struggling with trusting God to fight my battles, and I have been retaliating in the wordly way.
But now I feel more than ever the strength to just let it go, and let God do what he has to do for me. And let God fulfill his promises for me.
God Bless! and thank you for the enouragement!

Awesome!...Yes, I use the Word of God against all the foolish attacks of the enemy, especially when he tries to create doubt about the Bible and God's Character here on the Q & A..

It REALLY makes him angry ...and I get a real laugh how it drives him out .
