Isn't it a damn shame that they don't share every single secret with you and the rest of the public. I can't believe they have the temerity to withhold information that impacts national security from the general public. Absolutely outrageous.

Just a few things:
1) The job of the CIA is to provide intelligence to the federal government, not to inform the public.
2) Do you work for MI6, Mossad, or any other foreign intelligence agency? If not, then how can you say that their reputation is "totally tarnished world wide"?
3) The term "Ugly American" refers to American tourist in Europe. CIA agents in foreign countries generally blend in with the public.
4) Let me guess: you don't like President Bush. Is that what this rant about the CIA is all about?

The CIA isn't out to make friends. It's an intelligence agency. That's what they do. They are spies. They aren't open and transparent, nor should they be. Stop being ridiculous. That's probably the most naive question I've ever read. Hopefully, you were trying to be funny...or at least trying to be provocative.
I can see it now --- The NEW CIA! We're the "Friendly" Spies. Give me a break.

Well, if it was up to them you would have never heard of the CIA. It's not like they actually make an effort to draw attention to themselves. I'm certain that it woul dbe fine if you forgot who they were and went and thought about other things.
Now get over it. You really can't have too much information about your enemies.

Becuase they keep us safe from the terrorists. I know they're probably monitoring this site because terrorists, you know, use Yahoo Answers as a conduit to pass information along. This is where they do most of their recruiting too. The CIA is doing a good job protecting us there is no doubt about that.

The problem isn't that Americans believe the CIA, its that the CIA censors almost all the information that gets to the average American.

OK, are you well versed in the internal workings of intelligence agencies worldwide? Do you even no how a complex agency like the CIA works abroad? Because somehow I doubt it, the Central Intelligence Agency is one of the premier intelligence agencies in the world and provides a vital service to America.
EDIT: One space below me Lori K has it exactly right.
