How is it that my birth sign so closely describes me acording to astrology?

It seems that any birth sign i look at it fits the person almost exactly, why?

personally I think people born under certain signs have alot of symaler characteristics. I have a Book called the secret Language of birthdays that seem to be pretty accurate.
Now do I think my horascope can tell me my future? Do I consult it? Nope I think its a farce that way and it would be a sin. But as far as people that are taurus being similiar, ya I believe it . ( doesn't it say somthing in Genises about the stars being for signs and seasons?)

By 'birth sign' do yo mean a person's SUN sign? When a person actually 'gets INTO' astrology, they would have what is called a natal chart done. Basically, this plots out the positionment of all the planets, the moon, even the sign that is on the horizon at the TIME of your birth all calculated on WHERE you are born.

When people really don't want something to be 'true', they simply give something a quick overview, find their 'faults' with it and then complain about it. If a person really is looking to see something as it is, they give it the time to show itself and look at it from different sides.

Astrology 101:
The SUN sign is the basic personality of a person, which YES is a generality if that is ALL that you are looking at. The sign on the horizon or ascendent or rising sign puts a spin on the base personality. The moon sign covers one's emotional side, where mercury deals with a person's mentality or how their mind words. Venus involves one relationships, where Mars deals with one's sex drive, forcefulness, and temerment. Jupiter covers one's outlook like being optimistic, Saturn deals with responsibility and ethics. Then we get into the 'generational signs", since they don't change position all that often.

THEN, using the rising sign, the planets are cast into a circular chart (the natal chart) separated into what are called Houses which have OTHER influences and aspects. THEN the math comes into play...hehehee in how your planetary signs deals with your other planteary signs...like if they work together or if the will cause conflicts.

Astrology is a complex system if one really looks at it. Personally I don't feel like one really can predict the future with it; but if one is looking for some self analysis or feeling the need to work on personal issues, it DOES give a person a place to start. Since every natal chart is pretty unique per individual. There are several FREE sites online that do offer the natal chart.

THINGS are just THINGS, they become how one chooses to define them.

astrology is based on the belief that all things in the universe are connected. therefore, astrologers believe that the positions of the stars and planets can indicate what influences existed at the time of your birth. what you normally see that is called astrology is as everyone else has said, it's a generalization designed to trigger a reaction in you.

i've always been skeptical, but i have friends who use astrology to determine the 'mood' of a particular time, similarly to the way e.r. nurses use the phase of the moon.

Coincidence and you can't know too many people then. There are twelve signs and over 6 billion people in the world. I find it incredibly hard to believe that the 500 million people in each sign al have similar characters.

I don't know but wanted to comment that I am 56, feel the same way and have been a Jesus lover/Christian all my life and religious people tend to poopoo this stuff, but it always fits me so close so I want to know too ?

Look at each birth sign independantly and compare it to your personality - I guarantee you that no matter which sign you choose you will think it describes you.

Because they are general things that we all like to believe about ourselves. The bad things aren't so bad. We want to see what is said as true.
