I am recovering from cancer and currently in remission. What I have noticed in the last week is that I have bruising on my calf muscles where the top of my socks are. I know this sounds bizarre, but I have never really bruised easily - and yes I do have 'paranoia' about cancer returning - all perfectly normal. Does this bruising mean anything - and no, my socks are definitely not tight......

Thanks for responses to date - no chemo or radio involved, just surgery - one lucky girl I guess - feeling ok, very tired at times to be expected after major surgery on kidney. Not anaemic to my knowledge.....many thanks in advance, for any further advice to come

You should really ask your doctor about this (and I'm sure that is a scary thought). There are so many side effects from chemo and such that it could simply be related to that. Wish you the best of luck.

Sounds pretty bizzare, I would mention it to yur Dr.

You mention you only had surgery, could the 'where' be a factor?

Eg, I had lumpectomy and axial node clearance and now get slight lymphodema as a result - it means that if I am not careful, sleeves get too tight and can cause bruising.

You did not say about any other brusing, lack of vitamin B can cause this if you have been on chemo it could have depleted vitamin B

I don't mean to scare you but that is a symptom of leukemia. Get checked out as soon as possible!

If you are still on medications it is very possible that they are causing this. You should call your doctor, soon.
