Because in any human population women always out number the men. The population between men and women starts comparatively the same, but men are dumb and we die a lot more often than women. Insurance companies know this, that's why male's insurance is a small fortune between the ages of 16 - 25.

What you see is the left over statistically.

Plus, some men don't stick around for a couple of reasons.

They don't want kids.
They can't afford kids.
They are di*k's

Or

The woman gets intentionally pregnant trying to keep a man around.
The woman's birth control fails and a baby come out of a temporary liaison.

There are zillions of reasons, good or bad to why...

Because a lot of the men in the world resemble guys like you, who can't form a proper sentence. C'mon, look at what we have to work with!

Rephrase your question:
"Why ARE THERE so many single mothers in the world?"
and maybe you'll get a less offensive answer next time.

Ok I can give some valid reasons:

1) The mothers didn't use birth control/protection and it was unplanned pregnancy. And the father is in "denial" that it's his child or he left the relationship.

2) The fathers could be deceased

3) It was a planned pregnancy but the father decided he's not ready, so he left.

4) The father could be in jail.

Lots of divorces in the world especially in the West. Some might be teen moms who's boyfriends ran out on them when they got pregnant. Some might have escaped abusive husbands. Some may just not want to get married.

Sometimes the man finds a new woman and dumps the one he's with. Other times, the mother is an emotional whining brat. Some men don't want the responsibility of children.

There are SO many factors contributing to the number of single mothers. I will try to name off a few that immediately come to mind:

- Getting divorced
- Being raped
- Escaping abuse situations
- Lack of access to birthcontrol/sexual education
- Being widowed
- Irresponsability by both partners (knowingly not using birth control)

I feel with the exception of certian situations (rape, abuse, deception) both partners are equally responsible for an unplanned pregnancy.

This is 2 sided
#1 X-Box , Playstation, Game Cube etc. have turned the younger generations lazy and immature I truelly think that!!

#2 Sex has become a casual thing among the younger generation and produces more births from casual sex or friends with benefits

Some choose it because they want kids and have no male partner.

Some leave their husbands for whatever reason (justified or not).

Some husbands leave their wives and children for whatever reason.

Most families could be kept together but it just seems like too much work. Most probably regret it later.
