Ok so, my mom and dad are divorced, and now i live with my mom and stepdad in Wisconsin. my real dad moved to Florida, and i wold love to go live with him for a while. I'm 13, and i would LOVE to know what age i legally have a choice of who i live with... thanks much for your help :)



AND::: I was also wondering.. how would i break it to my mom that I want to live with my dad. Ive lived with my mom my entire life and she would be heartbroken if i left. but im getting so bored up here and want a change. so any tips on how i would tell my mom???

I think it's 14 when you can choose. But that might not be everywhere. But really, if this is a temporary move, you can try to ask now. See if your Mom would allow it. She'd understand if you explained that you miss your Dad and wanted to stay with him for a year, or even six months. Just make sure you are clear that this is because you miss Dad, not because you're unhappy with Mom.

But at 14 you can choose where you live, before that the courts decide which parent gets custody.

i wanna know the same thing i get to see my dad every 6 months cuz i recently was forced to move to nc while my sister had to stay in ohio and honestly i miss ohio soooo much i just want to go back

whay dont you just go for a week visit and if you still feel the same ask your mom to understand and you will there to visit her becaus you love her and appriciate all her halp and sacrifices she has done for YOU

Sit her down let her know you love her and with respect tell her. Let her know its nothing she did just something u wanna try. Make sure u drown her with love. It wont be easy.
