Okay, so here's the problem. I am 15, 5"8 and weigh about 135 pounds. I know that this is the normal weight for someone my age, but when i was young i was REALLY thin. Usually kids when they are little they are fat and when they get older they are skinny. For me it was the opposite, i was always really thin until i started to feel bored around a year or 2 ago, and just ate for the heck of it. This summer i have gained a lot of weight though and i am afraid people at school might stare. I am the biggest one out of all my friends. So, i need to know how to lose a couple of pounds, without doing too much exercise cuz im really busy. I have a really big but, a stomach and huge thighs...

I'm fourteen, and ur problem is common among girls around our age now. My friends say stress keeps away the extra pounds for me because I study way too much! I also enjoy sports, and thats a vital key into losing weight, but with high school, I can relate to that. Try not to much on fatty snacks and eat HEALTHY! No hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza etc. for a while until you really see some extra improvement. Always keep yourself busy, that way you have less time sitting on your couch and staring at the TV.

Your not really big at all trust me, I'm just about 2 inches taller than you, but I weigh 30 lbs more. I know you know your in the normal range for your height, and if you do feel like you need to lose weight. There are a couple of things that you can do.

First off, if you can do some excercising in the morning and in the night, it'll really help your metabolism. 10-20minutes in the morning and night should be good, especially if your running on a tight schedule. Also, don't eat any large meals. Eat 5 small meals a day, just the size of your fist or palm will do. Cut the junk food out, it really helps. Don't drink anything else besides water, because everything else, soda, alcohol, what have you is just empty calories.

Gaining weight TOTALLY SUCKS! Don't let it get the best of you. I know, I shot up during the holidays 70lbs! All I did was eat, and I just didn't realize you know? But don't worry, I'm sure you'll be back to your old self in no time.

Good Luck =D

Don't worry, you're all normal. Even I was really thin as a child. I suggest that if you don't want to do exercise you can shed a few pounds easily by just laying off the sweet stuff. I switched from white bread to whole grain and I lost like 2 pounds in a week. Stay away from any soda (coke, sprite, even diet coke is full of gas that can cause stomach upsets). If you are 5'8 then it shouldn't matter too much. Your big stomach is caused by lack of vitamins and eating too much sugary and oily food. Don't eat deep fried food - shallow fried is okay once in a while. If you stop eating junk and sweets you will find that your stomach and waist will decrease in a few weeks. Beware though, there is no miracle cure and it will take patience and hard work. When I was 15, I followed these rules and now I am blessed with a flat stomach and a nice shape which I am sure you can achieve too. Good luck and just put your mind to it!

Well at 5 foot 7 and 130 lbs you are definitely in a healthy body weight area i would say you could stand to gain up to 15 more lbs and still be okay. A possible reason you could be feeling "fat" is because even if you are thin that doesn't mean you are fit. I have several friends who weight much less then me but if you look at them in a swim suit they look all flabby not because they're fat but because lots of the weight they have is fat and not muscle. My advice to you would be to get off the computer and go running, swimming, and lift weights. This will ultimately change your fat into muscle which will make you gain weight but it will be the best type of weight you'll look better and feel healthier too. I don't really know you so to be honest you could be one of those super pretty girls who is never satisfied with how they look if so you should really get over it.

That is a healthy weight...but I'll tell you what I know. Don't try to starve yourself or anything...your body will go into survival mode and hold onto all of your extra fat and you'll just end up damaging your organs. Reduce your calorie intake to 1200 calories...which is the lowest number you can eat before your body starts thinking you're starving. Of those 1200, you need to be eating lots of fruits, vegetables, and proteins, with good carbohydrates. Cut out sugar for the time being and be sure you DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Don't eat lots of packaged foods like chips/crackers etc. If you follow this you can lose from 1-3 pounds a week, towards the higher end if you try to slide in a little of the exercise. This is a slow, steady weight loss which will allow you to keep it off longer.

You still are at a perfectly normal weight, and don't worry about what other people think. Whatever happens GOOD LUCK!!!

I have the perfect solution for you but you have to start quick because it takes a week or two or even 5 to really kick in.

Announcing: The Special K challenge!

That's right! Just substitute 2 meals of your day with a Special K brand product (cereal is the most filling of it all) and then eat one meal regular.

CAUTION: You WILL feel hungry and inclined to eat.

But that whole "exercise to lose weight" is a load of horsecrap. Yes, you burn calories, but in all seriousness, it gives you an excuse to eat MORE.

I suggest preoccupying yourself with Dance Dance Revolution or something a little more constructive to distract you from eating too much.

Try and ask your mom to get you a few healthy snacks like fruits (SO good to munch on: grapes, cantellope, plumbs) and hundred calorie packs (ESPECIALLY the popcorn ones!! So filling and yummy still!!)

Only take the Special K Challenge for 2 weeks at a time, but you can always go back to it. You can take one month off then go back and you'll get your regular shape back in you.

First of all, if your doctor thinks that you are the normal weight for your age then listen to him/her. Not only that but you should never judge yourself just by looking at your friends. everyone is different. When you're ages through 13 - 17 your weight is going to fluctuate so you may not always be thin. However, don't eat just for the heck of it and if you find that you can't help it no matter what you do, reach for the healthier foods instead of the bag of chips in your snack cabinet. I hope I helped you feel better and I wish you luck!

Watching what you eat will help you lose weight without even feeling that you are on a diet. Avoid eating high calories food (candy bars, chocolates, ice cream, pizza, fried foods, fast food)and high on carbs. Carbohydrates (pasta, bread, rice, potatoes) are the food that makes our stomachs big. It also becomes harder to break down because they also turns into fat and the only way of getting rid of them is by working out.

According to your self description, I would not call it fat, it is probably just a little bit of pudge...and by eating healthy and maintaining a good fiber diet to keep your immune system good in order to digest food fast should take care of the small pudges on your stomach, thighs, and butt.

Drinking high in sugar drinks is not the best either. Choosing over sodas or lemonade...i know few kids like drinking water... but I will suggest you atleast drink 1 glass each meal then you can have fruit juices as an alternate from carbonated drinks. Fruit juices have natural sugars that is easier to burn rather than artificial sugars that also turns to fats.

Aside from those simple things...I wish you luck.

135 pounds at your height sounds like a healthy weight. Of course you were thinner when you were younger, don't forget you are now a young woman and have developed some womanly curves. Often girls feel funny in their own bodies when their bodies change. Getting a bit heavier is part of being a woman and you might be bigger right now than your friends becuase you may just be developing faster. Try to appreciate your new body. You are not a girl any longer.
