gauge is for shotguns - sized based upon the equal number of lead balls from a pound of lead as i recall

Caliber- fractions of an inched listed in decimal form- typically used for handgun / rifle bore size

Short charge- references a type of bullet load

Bore is the inside barrel diameter.

You should know this stuff

A. Dates back to when guns were gauged by the number of lead balls to the pound that would fit the bore. i.e. take a lead ball that fits the bore, and twelve balls this size weigh one pound, that is a 12 gauge gun. 16 to the pound=16gauge etc.
B. The bore of a gun, i.e. 12 gauge is the caliber of a gun. Can get confusing as some guns are measured across the bore and others across the lands of the rifling. i.e. a .308 is .300 across the lands, the actual bullet is 308 in diameter. The gun may be called either, depends who developed it and what they chose to call it.
C. A military expression to mean a reduced charge, usually applied to Howitzer type guns. May also be used to describe a cartridge with insufficient powder.
D. 12 bore is 12 gauge, one and the same, bore and gauge are terms usually only applied to shotguns. Caliber is usually applied to rifled arms, i.e. .223 caliber, 45 caliber.

B. Quickly Google any firearm manufacturer and you will see that the "caliber" of the weapon describes the size of the weapon as the size of the bore and cartridge designed to fit it.

"Gauge" only refers to shotguns, which have no rifling in the or along the inside of the barrel. Note, a shotgun does not fit the same category as rifle or pistol because of the lack of rifling.

A "short charge" refers to ammunition type, I think with the primer.

And "bore" refers to diameter of the barrel. at the breech.

That would be caliber. Its just the width of the round that it is chambered for.
