Has anyone noticed this also? People who ask normal questions are put down. The people who answer questions get thumbs down just because someone didn't agree with the answer they gave. I can see where the thumbsdown is needed, but if the answer is completely opinionated, there is no need whatsoever. Not everyone thinks the same way as you. If you think a question is dumb, don't answer it...and try to spell correctly if you're over the age of twelve.
Does anyone agree with me? Just wondering

Obviously, by some of the answers, you can tell who really read the question and who didn't... or who understood the question. You can also see exactly waht I'm talking about by the immaturity level.

..and the fact that I put 12 years as the age limit doesn't matter. Everyone should spell correctly, because there is a spell check. There are alot of children under the age of 13 on here too. Just read the questions that they ask about entering 5th and 6th grade.

Everyone can tell if a person answering is a native english speaker or not. That wasn't the point.

I think it's because this is a free site open to anyone of any age and background. Some people are here to get laughs and make replies in the attempt to be funny, when they actually come off as just being an ***. Not being able to speak English properly is not the point, and I think some people here seem to miss that. Of course if it's not your native language then it won't be perfect, but I don't think that's what the complaints are about. The complaints are the about the people who use severe internet slang as normal verbiage and end up not getting their points across, such as "iz any1 else bu&&ed by thiz type of spelling u guyz???????!!!" That's deliberate and totally unecessary. And that has nothing to do with anyone's native tongue.

I don't see why 12 is the age limit for being able to spell. Makes no sense to me. I think everyone should do their best at spelling and grammar here, whatever that best is. It's the lazy ones' spelling and grammar that bothers me. We do need to consider that many people here are not native English speakers -- you can tell some of them, however, because their grammar and spelling are too good to be a native speaker's!

I agree with you that we should be polite to one another here and elsewhere. Being rude and/or flippant is certainly not a sign of maturity. However, anywhere humans are allowed to participate, we're going to have signs of immaturity. I often wonder if these people even realize that their immaturity and lack of understanding is showing so clearly to everyone. I should think they'd want to present themselves in a better light.

Ummm, according to Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines, children under the age of 13 are not permitted to ask or answer questions. Therefore, I guess we can expect everyone to use proper spelling and grammer.

I quilt the entire bases what a laugh is it to be a stuffy grownup? what a waste to continuously be a teen and no longer be dealt with as one? and as for immaturity every person is to an quantity...I will constantly love Toys R Us and I will constantly be foolish and make foolish rhymes and dances and many others.. and having a five 12 months historic is helping me have an excuse to do the ones matters hehe

Some people don't take this site seriously....they just come here to have fun. The thumbs down option is for a reason. It's OK to use it if you disagree. Also
for some people english is not their native tongue so don't be so harsh about spelling.

Yeah, I agree. They should put themselves in the shoes of the asker. They wouldn't want crap answers if the tables were turned.
