I wish that relationships were black and white and someone could just say definately in this case...but not in this one
Unfortunately there are so many variables that you should not give up after one fight. My gf and I have been together for 3+ years and if you don't get into some kind of fight then your relationship isn't normal. Obviously I don't know what the argument was about but sometimes when my gf rips into me on something I just want time to think about it from her standpoint before I try ot argue back and just make things worse.
Give him a day and then let him know that you are worried about what happened between the two of you.

No, that doesn't mean it's over. That just means he wants some private time to work it out. As long has the time he needs is measured in hours or days, it's okay. If he says he needs a couple of weeks or months to think about it, that's not a good sign.

Not necessary true. It could mean that he just needs some space so that he's able to breathe if you know what I mean.

me and my bf broke up a while ago and he said we need a break, but i never gave him any time. so we got further apart until i finally gave him some space and we got back together just like that.
but make sure he know ur still there

no not always. if he is smart he will do just that and think about it and if he comes back to you then you know that you at least have someone that cares for you because when i set down and thought about what he wanted he came up with he still wanted you. be optimistic.

well... not really.. if he want time to think.. give him time.. let him asess and ponder and i think u2 might as well think as to what really happened... i think u2 needs a little space 2 breath... don't squeez him in too tight... cuz in the end he might just get away...
