That's Chinese.

Bryan is right on the translation of "知识堂周刊". That's the name of a webzine by Yahoo! China.

And that line "在我们的日常生活中,男左女右,好像约定俗成地渗透到了我们社会..." seems to be quoted from an article that's also available online. In fact, it's the very first line of the article on how the custom of males on the right and females on the left originated.

I disagree with his interpretation that each gender has different roles in society. Anyway, my take on that sentence would be, "In our daily lives, left is for the men and right is for the women; this custom has been practised so much that it's one of our social norms in many aspects" Um, I'm not entirely satisfied with it yet. It could do with further tweaking. And oh, note that I'm translating the full sentence, not just where you cut off at.

P.S. Asia would be the word you wanted (in your question) as that refers to the continent. An Asian would be someone who's a native of Asia or of Asian descent.

在我们的日常生活中,男左女右,好像约定俗成地渗透到了我们社会 = In our daily lives, men on the left, women on the right [each gender has different duties in society], is like what's at first vulgar has permeated/assimilated into our [current] society.

知识 = knowledge
