It's not really the breed that is the important factor, it's the dog's personality. The dog needs to be friendly and outgoing.
But really, if you need a dog to do the heart melting you need to work on a lot of personal stuff before you get a dog.

Something small and sleek. Nothing is cuter than seeing a big, strong guy with a little dachshund walking next to him.
