I see how someone said that they won't let me in with 2 DUIs, but my recruiter has seen people with worse records get in. Now I don't know if that means 3 DUIs or more severe crimes but there is an old saying that you have to have a DUI to be a Master Chief. I know that with more than 3 convictions of any kind you are not getting in, I don't care what they say. I just don't see why my recruiter would lie, he called me as if there was no problem getting in when I asked on the military website.

depends on the Branch you are trying to get in to, how long ago the DUIs were, and what you have done since then. Navy and AF will be less willing to grant any waivers. anything recent(under three years) and not even the Army or Marines will be in a great big hurry to grant any.

in any event, ANY alcohol related incidents once you are in is a career killer. ZERO tolerance. on my husband's last ship, one of the Master Chief's was involved in a DUI type incident while in a Foreign Port. When the ship left, he WAS NOT on it. a 20 plus year career...down the tubes.

If you have a DUI or any kind of crimminal record you can forget about enlistment in any branch of service. As far as the MasterChief comment goes forget it; its a stupid myth. The rank of Master Chief is a very respected Rank and the responsibility is to great to have a DUI. Thats not to say that someone may have slipped thru the cracks , but it's far and VERY FEW in between.

He is a recruiter.....they pay him to lie!
Seriously, it would depend on the specific circumstances of your DUI's.
The days of the old time Master Chief are dead by the way!
Pity!

You don't see why your recruiter would lie? They lie all the time. They will try to get you in, no matter what your record because they have a quota to meet. They will push you through the system regardless of your record and hope that the "powers that be" don't notice.
