passing out?

how many people out there have passed out at the doctors office after they got shots because the doctor said it is commmon but it doesn't seem like it is

I have. My daughter does every time when she gets blood drawn. I also worked in the hospital in ER and this is more common than you think.

I have had that happen a couple of different times. It's a little frightening. I even had an MRI done to make sure that I was neurologically ok, and everything came out normal. I have just learned to deal with it and to warn every doctor who get anywhere near me with a needle. Good Luck.

When I was young I passed out at a doctors office twice. They said it was panic attacks.

OK..I NEVER had a problem with shots, blood drawn, etc. UNTIL a month ago. I went it to get a "vitamin IV". No big deal, right? (I am 44, have had 4 children..know the needles very well!) I started to feel VERY faint, couldn't breathe, started to cough..vasovagal reaction to the needle. I felt so stupid..BUT, it is not uncommon, per my DR! ;)

I have. I found out many years later why: I was holding my breath when I got shots, to the point where I passed out from forgetting to breathe.

Yeah, pretty stupid. But the phlebotomist that pointed it out to me said she sees it all the time.

Now I just control my breathing, and have never passed out since.

I never have, but I've heard of people passing out after shots.

I don't know. I mostly pass out from excessive alcohol consumption. It's nice, cuz I usually don't remember a thing.

I pass out when they draw blood I can't handle needles or the sight of blood.

Not me. I don't even look at the needle, and then it's done 2 seconds later.
