He and this person were just transfered to another job site. At first they thought it would be a good idea to carpool. The problem is, this guy is not dependable, leaves work early sometimes (which would leave my husband stranded without a ride). He turns the air conditioner on full blast and freezes my husband to death. He is a terrible driver and doesnt watch the road and slams on his brakes all the time. He talks jibberish non stop all the way to work (25 miles) My husband's nerves are so tore up after dealing with this! He doesnt want to hurt the guys feelings. What to do or say?

Just tell the guy that sometimes he might want 2 stay and work a little later than him,and it would b unfair 2 ask him 2 hang around and wait , so ur husband can just decide 2 drive alone and calm, some things r worth more than saving half the gas.If the guy says no prob He'll wait, take ur own car anyway and he will get the hint,Possibly say on down time u want 2 run some errands, last resort tell truth

Do one of two things:

1 - Offer to drive all the time and let the other guy help with the gas.

2 - If he just wants to distance himself from the other guy, tell the other guy that he has some things to do either before or after work for the next couple of weeks and won't be able to carpool. Then just avoid the subject of carpooling in the future.

Simple. Your husband can tell his coworker that he needs to go in a little earlier and/or stay a little later at work for the next few weeks/months. So, the carpool, while a good idea, isn't working out well at the moment. (Naturally, it never will...)

Get away from this guy, hurt his feelings or your husband can stress himself into a disease that could kill him. This is a toxic unbalanced situation he is in and it is not healthy. This guy seems like he is comfortable and set in his way your husband will have to make the change. The best to you both.

"Hey Bill, I really appreciate the rides. The carpool thing isn't really working out for me, so I'll just drive myself from now on. See you at work!"

Tomorrow, just tell himto drive to work alone, and tell the other guy that he's going to be leaving later and doesn't want to hold him up.

Then, take his car everyday...chances are the other guy won't say a damn thing.

Just tell him the truth. "Co-worker dude, I'll be using my vehicle from now on." "Thank you for the rides... catch you on the rebound."
