You should've kicked your doctor in the groin and when he doubles over, ask him how he's able to stand since he's in so much pain?
Your doctor needs to be fired. He's insensitive and not trying to help you.
It's time to find another doctor who's willing to work with you and help you.
You and a doctor you trust need to decide if surgery is the right option for you. You have options, it's just finding the doctor(s) that will help you.

Good luck

Well, first of all, you don't ever give up! You must have got a doctor from hell to talk to you that way. You need to find a good orthopedic surgeon. I wish you were close to Nashville, Tennessee. The best sports medicine/orthopedic surgeon in the entire world is at Southern Hills Hospital. Thomas O'Brien....he can't be beat!! I had the kind of pain you're describing and an MRI showed severe narrowing of the spinal cord canal in my lumbar region. I had a laminectomy, went home the next day, took pain medication as prescribed and found enormous relief. Yes, four years later I still have a bad, bad back but I see Dr. O'Brien regularly and he keeps me going. There are great doctors to be found and he's definitely one of the best.

pain is a signal in your body that something is wrong. no doctor can actually know exactly how much pain a person is in simply because they aren't that person and every person has a different pain threshold. if a doctor isn't taking you seriously about the amount of pain you are in it is definitly time for a second opinion. good luck to you.
