hmm...what if he came back and people were so busy being self righteous and attacking everyone that didn't believe the same way they did that they didn't notice when he tried to say hello?
what if they thought he was a long haired homosexual pagan and told him to get saved and he was so sad that he just left?
just a thought.

The truth is that the Christ has returned as the World Teacher for the new age of Aquarius and his personal name is Maitreya along with his disciple Jesus who lives in Rome and is dwelling in a Syrian body that is some 960 years old. Together they will come forward and declare themselves to the waiting world along with a group of Masters who from our point of view are a group of perfected men who have no need to incarnate except as a Field of service. We are now entering into a new golden age and it will be one of world peace and brotherhood and sharing as the foundation of a new civilization.Out of all this will come a new world religion ,or should I say a spirituality based on equal rights and the power of love.Take your brothers need as the measure of your action and solve the problems of the world.

Hehehee sounds like you have been watching South Park. On South Park, "Jesus" did come back, but he wasn't what christians wanted so he started a talk show.
Over the centuries, "Jesus" has become many different things to many different people. 'Jesus' is used in parathesis since "Jesus Christ" is a translational representation of a name, not the ACTUAL name of a person. One also need keep in mind that NONE of the NT scriptures were written by anyone that actually knew 'Jesus'.
In many ways, the 'Jesus' concept probably stems from the actions of several different people like Ephraim in the OT scriptures Hosea and Hababkuk. He was born in the city of Bethal, the son of Joseph.
Issu ben Pandira is also another likely canidate for some of the "jesus' mythology. He is said to have started the Essene movement in Judism. He is said to be the son of a temple virgin and was hung from a tree on the eve of passover.
As to your question on why atheists are on R&S, many atheists do have alot of information concerning religions. Most atheists have explored most of the major religions--their history and theology in detail. For individual reasons, they found the religions lacking in one way or another.
From my experiences, many theists, especially Christians completely dismiss atheists or demean them in several ways merely since they do not share the same definitional idols/concepts. Hehheee many denominations spew alot of propaganda concerning atheists---with out ever actually speaking to one, sterotyping them.
One need remember the early greek definition of atheist-a person with no set doctrine or theology, so an atheist could have a concept of god---just one that didn't FIT any set religous pattern.
Atheism originally and still is an individualistic philosophy. Each person seeing and defining their reality based upon their unique experiences. Religion in contrast, in many ways simply is taking another's opinions/defintions concerning life and reality.
Our modern concept of Atheism has been in evolution for centuries. Many of the current concepts stemming from the later 19th century with the concepts of evolution.

Jokes aside though you'll likely take a zany approach, dear Gawd, a companion question is what if he came back not the way mainstream popular interpretation understands, just as he did the first time he came when the interpretations of his own religious community blinded them?
