I have a VZ-24 action I am looking to chamber it for use on varmint. I am thinking .243 Win or maybe 22-250. I am looking for suggestions on which one will chamber the best and so on.

Both are good varmint rounds, the 22-250 is a little more violent due to the speed ( it makes them Explode) on varmints, which is fun.
22-250 55gr average fps is 3,600.
243 75gr average fps 3,300.
But the 243 could be a combination weapon Varmints and Deer with just a change of ammo.

If you wont a primary varmint weapon that makes one big pieces turn in to a bunch of little bitty pieces both are up to game.

I saw a buddy of mine vaporize a very pudgy skink 22-250, thank God we were 200 yards away and up wind because it was raining skunk.

But either or I would recommend you shoot Nosler Varmint Ballistic Tips.

depend on the distance and animal the larger the size of the animal the larger the caliber a 22-250 is a good long distance small varmint gun 243 is also good for the distance but will give u more foot lbs energy for a larger game animal

Anything shorter than the original 8mm is going to work great. Can't decide between the .243 or 22-250, both of those would be great.

E.R. Shaw makes nice 98 barrels and I can recommend Boyds' Gunstocks highly as I have a couple of their stocks and been very happy.

You have space (obviously) for a 57mm case. Why not a 257 Bob or 6mm Rem? Great varmint rounds that buck wind better than 22's, and if you handload, you'll appreciate the case design.

.233 is the cheapest. .243 is long and flat shooter. Good for anything from coyotes on down. Not recommended for anything larger. .223 is cheap and you can find it anywhere. It is a standard American NATO round. You acn use it and use it and use it. Easy to find anywhere. It's a good long distance round also.

hunting "varmit' is awful. You enjoy killing defensless creatures for fun? you need to grow up and realize that killing is barbaric. start making a positive change in your life and the lives of others.
