I used to but then realized it was such a ridiculous pain to hide what everyone else in the world is doing, too. I would rather people hear me pee than have them think it's quiet because I'm dropping number two. If you're really sensitive about it, run the faucet while you're peeing. It's a terrible waste of water, so weight your decision carefully. I say just pee in peace. What are people going to do, tell you that you pee too loud or something?

I am a proud pee-er so I don't do any of the minimizing the noise stuff. But I know from just experimenting that if you piss against the bowl part rather that hiting the water directly its much quieter. But dude don't worry about it, I thought only women worried about being "dainty pee-ers".

After several beers I don't care. In fact after several beers loud peeing can assure one to obtain a much higher social status.
To lessen the noise try to hit just the bowl and not the water. Also you can flush (oldest trick) while peeing.

No way, I don't try to make it quieter at all! They see me go into the bathroom and close the door behind me, they know what they are in for. Besides, if you want to get technical at least you are peeing into the toilet in the bathroom with the door closed, so where's the problem?!

Yes, sadly I have "potty" issues. And, even though you didn't ask but it's the logical next question, I cannot drop a deuce in a public restroom w/out feeling immense shame. I then will wait for everyone (I don't care if it's the population of Canada) to leave the restroom so that I can come out. And yes, I'm in therapy. And no, I wouldn't use the restroom at his office cuz he might hear me.

No, I don't. It's a normal bodily function and if I'm in the proper place (ie, the bathroom) while performing it, I have no reason to be ashamed. I'm pretty sure the person standing outside the door has peed sometime in his/her life as well, so it's nothing new or even shocking.

No way! I pee however I want. If someone is offended, they are a sheltered prude that has issues with their own bodily functions. If someone said something to me about my peeing noise, I'd laugh in their face. Then I'd belch really loud.
We've been peeing and pooping since the beginning of time!

What does it matter? People know what the room is for, they know why the door is closed, they know why you are in there. How can anyone be embarrassed or offended by the sound of liquid flowing into the bowl? If they don't like it, they can move away.

Not much to do but to try to wait for them to have some courtesy and get away from the dang door...but if I can't hold it, then I just go and hope they would actually think of leaving. Don't know that a woman could make it any quieter...
