I am with Vicarious Cynic, only I want to look like Sharon Stone in "The Quick and the Dead." She slung a mean six shooter. Then we could all get together and build an orphanage to hold fast to that which is good. That is true religion, to take care of those that are not able to take care of themselves.

It's similar to the saying "chew the grass, spit out the sticks", referencing cows. They can't eat sticks, but they can't tell when sticks are in their grass, either. So they chew it first. When they find a stick, they spit it out. What it's saying is put everything to the test. Hold it up to what you know is good and right and true. If it lines up, hang onto it. Otherwise, throw it out.
