OK, I know this 30y/o guy (whom I had a little crush on till i learned some of the following info I am a little unsure and concerned due to my following question)
So, His ex gf was 20 y.o. Since then he has been seen going out with a 18 y/o BUT HE IS 29-soon to be 30 in 4 months!! Is this normal?
WHY do some 30 y/o men want/are attracted to girls that are so much younger than them- a 10 year age swing? Is it because they know these girls are naive or is it some sort of perversion? I am just turned 25 and I guess he could possibly consider me "Too old" for him anyways! This comes off as a little creepy/red flaggish to me.
Don't guys that age normally tend to date girls within at least a couple of years-5 years max within their age? I mean the maturity level , priorities and lives are at way different points in a 20 y/o girls VS. a 30 y/o, dontcha' think?!!?

Yes, this is normal behavior for men who are superficial and date women for their youth, looks and "fun" attitude. To men like this, the younger the better, because younger women have more youthful, fit bodies and are more likely to let the man in their life take the lead. Men who value youth and looks and want a girlfriend who will look up to them are immature, shallow and most often insecure. They believe that by having a much younger girlfriend, they will somehow look better.

The guy you're describing fits that mold. Men like that do not change. Forget him and find a real man who values inner beauty and maturity; that kind of person is looking for a partner, not a cute little charm.

Let's say the guy is 30 and the girl is 20. Is it creepy because of the 10 -year difference, or because the girl is too young? The reason why I ask is the fact that the guy could be 50 and the girl could be 40 which is still a10- year difference. Right now you're still young at 25, what if a 35 year old man is interested in you and you're so in-love with him, would the 10-year gap matter or you'll just let it go? I believe that as long as the couple are of legal age, in-love, and are mature enough to accept each others idiosyncrasies then age does not matter.

Men aren't as interested in maturity as you gals I'm afraid, and the attraction is almost always the other way round. Women tend to gravitate towards older men in the quest for a 'mature' partnership, they are generally less hung up on looks as long as he is 'interested' (which if he is a typical man, he will be provided you have a pulse or are at least still relatively warm) The tendency towards older men is to try to find something mentally stimulating as women tend to be far more 'mature' about what they want in a relationship far earlier than men. The male perspective is almost always purely sexual initially but in the long run the the different reasons still create the same attraction. so quite often a gap of several years is an advantage and often works.

There is a cliche that goes something like this"age is just a number".To some extent and with caveats, that is true. Think of it this way---would you rather be with a guy who fell within your acceptable age parameters but did not love you(or you him)or would you rather be with a guy who was a little bit older but treated you with respect, love, and dignity.I suspect I know your answer.Unless you have some indication that this guy was a pedophile or pathological, having a current girlfriend who was younger than the previous one is not creepy nor should it raise red flags.People with much greater age differences (Sophia Loren and her husband Carlo Ponti come to mind) have had successful relationships.Hence if you still have a crush on him, forget the age issue and concentrate on trying to build a good relationship.

I think the reason is because it makes them feel young. This guy is almost 30 he is getting up there in age! And by dating a young girl it makes him feel young again! Sure it could be for looks too but there as some hot 25 year olds out there im sure!

I am a female (aged 43)and I am attracted to the younger type of guy (under 20), My boyfiend is 21.
Your guy will never change. Enjoy the crush and wait till you either fall in love or get another crush on someone else.

I'm 30. I'm dating a 25 yo. (Doesn't mean I know it all.... but anyways)

He's not cool with being 30. He's trying to re-live his 20's. Is he someone you want? Well, be honest, it looks like he's hooking up with girls who probably don't want a commitment.

It's you're gamble. You could follow the classic route of women and think you can change him (when you can't...not until he's ready) or You could save yourself all the crap and find yourself a great guy.

Since women mature faster then guys it's not that big of a deal. But if you are concerned then move on from him and find a better guy out there. Good luck..

my 23yr roommate is kind of seeing a 35 year old guy. i don't think there is anything wrong with that.. i think once you're out of high school, age doesn't matter.. if that 18 year old was a high schooler then that might be a little pervy.. but as long as they are out of hs i don't think there's anything wrong with it... 25 for a girl is too old for some guys in their late 30's... i like girls about a year or two younger than me, but i think i'm in the minority...
