4 cylinders. Just had complete tune up (all parts) and the throttle body cleaned. Did not stall before tune up. Ran very rough but did not stall. Could the idle be set too low? The mechanic said to put injector cleaner in gas and if this does not fix, then it could be a very expensive vacuum something, not just vacuum hoses... Any input... Should I find a new mechanic? Thanks

Do not spend any money until you know what the engine compression is. Trying to replace parts to diagnosis the stalling problem? Read the trouble codes under the passengers seat. Nd get a good nissan tech to look your truck over. I get customers with 1987 trucks that think machines never wear out. Anything could of happened in 15 years Cleaning the throttle chamber probably took out the air flow meter. Available in wercking yards bolted to the side of the throttle chamber with two philips headed bolts/ Good Luck proving that the mechanic spraying carb cleaner all over the sensor electronics killed the air flow meter.

Yes, find a new mechanic. Did this joker change your fuel filter? If this problem was evident immediately after you got the vehicle back from the present mechanic, then he needs to make this right with you, or you will call the Better Business Bureau at the very least. You spent many dollars to get your vehicle fixed. He apparently misdiagnosed the problem, and now wants you to solve it by adding some cleaner to your fuel? Well if that' all it takes, then why did he do all of the work in the first place?! Try reasoning with him. if that doesn't work, then you got ripped off, plain and simple. Be sure to tell your story to as many aquaintences as you can.
