I have bought it, however have not started it yet. I keep hearing mixed things about it.

What are your thoughts?

Alli is a complete waste of money. If anyone ever read the warnings or the info on their web site, nobody would take the stuff.

The reality is, in the manufacturer's own tests before they released the product, people who took Alli lost less than 1 lb a month more over the course of 12 months than people taking a placebo. You should just find out what the placebo was and go with that.

You can read more about Alli and all its wonderful side effects here:

The only proven way to lose fat safely and permanently is by consistently following a sound nutrition plan (not a fad diet) and a comprehensive fitness program. There are plenty of great programs you can follow that will give you real results and cost less than Alli. Check some out here:

When I first heard about it a two months ago (give or take) I thought it sounded really interesting, and I was almost willing to try it....until I checked their website.

If you haven't read the info on the website, or even in the booklets since you have them, there are a lot of weird and gross side effects if you don't follow the directions closely.

One of the biggest turn offs for me was when they mention that you should wear dark clothes, and carry a change of clothes with you at all times, until you know the side effects.

Some of the side effects are as follows:
Oily stool (imagine looking into the toilet to see oil..gross!)
Orange colored oily dischage
If you feel you have to fart...DON'T DO IT!! Run to the bathroom...it could be discharge
And this was just some of the side effects the site listed.

Basically, if you haven't done your research yet, the pills block your bodie's fat absorbtion. You are limited to 15 grams of fat per meal. Anything over that and your body won't absorb it. So it's got to go somewhere else. Where? Out. By any ways necessary.

I'm sure the pills work great for those who have a lot of will power, but if you aren't the slightest bit serious about losing weight, and if you don't think you can or will follow the directions "to the T", then I probably wouldn't even think about trying the pills.

I started taking it about 2 months ago and it is not a bad pill to take if you are committed. You have to reduce the amount of fat that you eat or you will have side effects as listed on the instructions. It is not a medication where you will drop ten pounds if you don't exercise and eat right and it states that you will only lose a pound or two a month. So far I have lost about ten pounds but I am not sure how much of that is contributed to the pill or the changes that I have made in my diet and exercise routine. It is better than some medications in the sense that it is only absorbed through your digestive system and not the blood stream so it doesn't cause any other side effects besides stomach issues *sick tummy*. It is not a bad medication but you have to be committed to change.

It's shown to cause pre-cancerous lesions and cancerous tumors in the colons of laboratory animals. Does it list that as a side effect?? Well, it should.
