No tuition; plus their room and board and medical and dental are provided. In addition, "Cadets, as members of the Army, receive an annual salary of approximately $6,500"

Yes, students at the academy are in the military. They are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Students get paid a salary (not a lot) but from this salary must pay for books, computers, uniforms, etc. Cadets or midshipmen do not pay tuitition. For information, you should go on to the United States Military Academy website. If you want to go to the Academy but feel you may need a little boost, check out the Army Prep School. I am not sure that a lot of people know about the academy prep schools but they can provide a little extra help to those whose academics and/or physical skills need honing.

No everything is paid for by the Government, however you have a service commitment once you graduate. Ususally it is a minimum of two years ative duty, and then there is a Reserve Committment if you leave active duty after 2 years.
