We are still under Moses law. Is it alright to kill now? Is it okay to lie? To steal? I never understood where the church came in with the doctrine that Jesus took away the 10 commandments...in fact...here are some scriptures that show He didn't...

The only laws Jesus' blood took the place of were the blood laws...the sacrificial requirements and circumcision. All other laws still apply...the food laws, marriage laws, sex laws, and most of all the 10 commandments...

Jesus said...

John 14:15 "If you love me, keep my commandments..." He summerized those commandments with the two Levitical laws already given in the OT with Lev:19:18 and Deut. 6:5. Which were repeated by Him in the NT Matt22:40. He did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it Matt 5:17 and to magnify the meaning of the law Isa. 42:21 which Isaiah is the most quoted scripture by Christ. He states how love is fulfilling of the law in Romans 13:10. Paul then supports this teaching in Romans 3:31and 6:1, 14, 15.

There are literally hundreds of places where the laws of God are called perfect, good and etc but none where they are spoken of as abolished.

Jesus states what marriage is...MAT 22:29 Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the
Scriptures or the power of God.

30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage;
they will be like the angels in heaven.

MAR 10:6 "But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and
female.'

7 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to
his wife,

8 and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one.

9 Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

10 When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about
this.

11 He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman
commits adultery against her.

12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits
adultery."

In biblical times...sex was marriage...there was no document, no ceremony and couples were usually engaged a long time but were not married until they lived together as husband and wife. So, if a person has sex with anyone or anything outside of the bonds of "marriage" they are in essence married to "it" or "them".

Verses regarding homosexuality...

ROM 1:26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their
women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.

27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and
were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with
other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

32 Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things
deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also
approve of those who practice them.

1CO 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of
God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor
adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders

10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers
will inherit the kingdom of God.

11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were
sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by
the Spirit of our God.

1TI 1:8 We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.

9 We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers
and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those
who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,

10 for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers-
-and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine.

Okay..there you go..I hope this helps..if you need any further scripture please email me...I have tons of it. Love in Christ, ~J~

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 has probably been listed several times so I will only say that when Paul was writting these things to the believers in Corinth he was making of sinful lifestyles requiring repentance (turning away from). These lifestyles included drunkedness, adultery, idolatry, sexual immorality, stealing, homosexuality and a few more. A person that is a homosexual can become a christian but he will have to turn away from the homosexual lifestyle in order to be in good standing with God.

Romans1:26-27. Talks about indecent acts with male male and female female relationships.
Leviticus18:22 in reference to males, "don't lie with a man as one lies with a woman(referring to sex)
Leviticus20:13 same as 18:22, but says they should be put to death under the old law
In general, read Leviticus 18 for old covenant verses, and the Romans verse for New covenant verses. Hope this helps

Romans 1: 18-32. Being Gay is not a sin. Acting on those thoughts are a sin. Some will say, Love thy neighbor is the solution. It is not, you can Love the sinner but not the sin. If they say Love the sin, then you are turning your back on God, and what He wants. God bless.
