First he announces his intention to continue with the
so-called, missile defense system, then the Russians resume their strategic bomber runs in response (they discontinued those flights years ago as tensions cooled). Now the general who heads the department protecting North America from threats is moving our current defense system out of Cheyenne Mountain to a basement on a military installation.

Cheyenne Mountain was created some 50 years ago to protect North America from those same bomber runs by the Ruskies. 2,000 feet of granite and 3 foot thick doors designed to protect against nuclear, chemical and bioligical detonations. We're leaving that behind for "better cordination of personel. Your thoughts.

Bush & Cheney are trying to flush this country down the toilet.
They will try and stage another stupid 911 attack and then blame it on Iran. Then they will try and throw down a Marshal Law...but you know what? The whole thing is going to back fire and blow up in their face.

Intercontinental ballist missiles are more of a threat than bombers. Bombers are far more easily shot down than ICBMs. Cheyenne Mountain was created as a bomb proof headquarters for the North American Air Defense (NORAD) command. Cheyenne Mountain was constructed with ICBMs, not bombers, in mind.

Obviously, a question about bombers, hardened command centers, missile-defense systems, redeployment of military personnel, and military installations has NO business in the "Military" section.

I learned that from Gugliam's response.

Bush is doing what he feels is best for the nation. he and is friends are working hard to make our nation strong, and doing what leaders of a super world power should be doing. and he's not responsible for the russians becoming a problem. its their brainless leader putin trying to push absolutism back into play.

Cheyenne Mountain is a relic of days past.

What Bush IS trying to do is create a North American Union with Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, and in so doing, surrender our sovereignty and country to his globalist initiatives.

I will defer this judgement to the Pentagon and the joint Chiefs, and frankly they don't need my opinion. Yours either !

Buddy if your looking for efficiency and saving money, the conservatives are just as bad if not worse than the liberals. they just take more from poor people who can't afford it.
