It is merely a matter of when.

I don't live in Turkey all the time but we are all aware of the fact.

As we all witnessed in the major earthquake in 1999, almost all the lives are lost due to bad construction.

What I persuaded my family here though is to have their apartment buildings inspected again and get their management to straighten up the buildings accordingly. Also the big furniture are all mounted to walls.

I also have my medication and water with me before going to sleep and got my parents do the same but there is no telling when it will happen.

Meanwhile, let me give you a sad fact about the trials of the constructors that had their buildings collapsed in the quake.. None of them are in prison anymore... So much for -non official - 40.000 lives lost ...

Well, I have put some canned chicken and canned vegetables away. I bought some batteries and we have a bit of extra water stored. I have some neat no-battery, shakable flashlights and a wind-up radio. Mmmmm, I have some extra cat food for El Gato and we have firewood. I also started making a "go bag" for under the bed if we have to Go, but it's not complete and we seem to sleep through the earthquakes (so we may just need a "stay bag"). It's not enough for The Big One, I fear. But, it's a start.

Nope, I refuse to stay in a persevering with state of "concern"! life is unquestionably too short to fret each and all the time. in case you reside life in consistent concern, you omit out on the "now"! Being nervous is stupid.
