About 28 years ago scientists began noticing the first signs of global warming for what they were. It took 27 years for the crisis to meet willing ears. One to 20 articles daily were being published about global warming in every newspaper and website, and then something happened. Something that could kill every related scientific endeavor up to this point. The oil and fuel companies began to lose money. Big time. Any smart businessman knows that the only way to stop losing money is to invest a small sum into getting articles into newspapers about themselves. People love to seem well-informed. This love makes them read the odds and ends in newspapers that don't match up with the norm of most articles. All of a sudden, scientists were conducting new experiments, and coming up with dramatically different results! Poo-pah global warming! It's actually all an enormous scam! Hey everybody, there is no more to truth to those ever-inconveniencing truths! Lets go burn natural fuels

and drive our huge cars, we're probably doing something good for the world.
If you investigate these scientists and journalists thoroughly enough you will find that somewhere along the line they recieved a research grant from Exxon, or Sunoco. The truth was so inconvenient to you that you immediately swallowed gas-company propaganda, and scorned all 'believers' in the 'religion' of global warming.

uhhh.... I'm not balding, thank you, though.

It's not just a conspiracy theory. These people were trying to keep their jobs, and you swallowed the more convenient truth they supplied.

20 articles a day written by short-sighted scientists all looking at the same data. Of course they all concluded the same thing. However, if you look at data back thousands of years, use glacier analysis, animal fossil migration data, etc. you will see that you cannot conclude global warming based on 30 or even 100 years. What the pro-warming scientists must admit is that a great portion of the current warming trend started at the end of the 1800's - well before the industrial revolution began. So with no increases in atmospheric water vapor, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons this supposedly pollution-initiated warming began. Hmmmmm. It tells me that there are other forces much greater than man at work here and that there are naturally occuring warming and cooling trends. In fact, it is predicted that we may actually just be approaching a mid-point in global temperatures if you look back over thousands of years or even 10's of thousands of years.

Yes, glaciers are receding. Glaciers at one point covered most of North America! Of course they are still receding. But talk to tour guides at Alaska's Glacier Bay, and they will tell you the glaciers receded much faster 200 years ago, then rebuilt, and are now receding again but much slower.

The primary thing that controls our earth's temperature is... the sun. And only about 14% of the CO2 produced come from industry. Lets get our facts straight before drawing temperature graphs over an 80 year period, extending them out, and predicting doom and gloom because of all man has done.

Should the world be doing things to prevent pollution, keep streams clean, and eliminating hazardous waste - of course! But this entire uproar over global warming is like Don Quixote fighting the windmills.

wow, you are breaking new grounds there. I dont think i have ever heard a single correlation between oil companies and global warming ever.....except by every conspiracy theorist on this website. Apparently only the ultra paranoid are well informed.

Think about it. It doesnt matter what science finds, there will always be an ever increasing demand for oil. We do not have enough information about global warming to claim that "thousands" of people a year are dying from it.

Go ahead and buy a hybrid, the less people use oil, the more expensive it will get.

And just because they "noticed it" 28 years ago doesnt mean that it wasnt happening before then. we are just taking a small period of time and extrapalating data, which is a big "oops" in science.

Also, this whole global warming movement also has money in mind. Green builders, import cars, solar panel producing companies, energy efficient appliance manufacturers, and so on. It is far more complicated than the "big bad oil companies".

Get real!

You think that after millions of years of changing climate on the earth that we somehow figured it all out in the last 20 years?

By the way, scientist have discovered how to cure balding hair as well. There is just a 50% chance of success, but buy the product - you might be that lucky guy. Your hair does not shed in cycles, thats a myth.

To answer your question, yes you are crazy.

If you want to start on the road to recovery the first step is to turn off the liberal media and stay away from your liberal friends. Then ask yourself, if there has really been 27 years of a "crisis" what have been the negative effects that have affected you personally. Don't you think that if there is a real global crisis then it would have somehow negatively affect you first hand? Please be honest with yourself.

The Liberals have cried wolf so many times in hopes to steel influence that no one in their right mind falls for it now.

The same scientists on your side are paid off by the environmental movement trying to push their anti capitalist agenda. The door swings both ways on this my friend.

so what is the question? Anyway, you are wrong about the first signs of global warming 28 years ago. The same scientists back then were trying to create panic that we were going into an ICE AGE! not global warming, so next time get your facts straight.

earth's orbiting around itself and other planets spinning around the same center-point (sun), is the major fact in increasing temperature and the surrounding heat at least in our galaxy.

even if all Americans drive gas guzzling trucks...
and even if there was no smug check...
and even if this continues for decades...

no such environmental disturbances would cause major climate changes as what we've started to notice in past 10 years (not even 20 years!!).

Think outside the box.

To me global warming means "Global destabilization" since the weather around many parts of the world is not only getting warmer, it is just becoming more erratic with fiercer storms, colder and hotter weather, more floods, etc, so as to why they call it global warming I am not quite sure, but I really think that it should be called global destabilization.

At any rate, I have lots of info that I think you will find quite helpful and enlightening:

See 20 years is just a blink of an eye for the history of the Earth. It's nothing when determining a trend, and insignificant for an amount of data.

Clearly your hatred of the oil industry is covering any objective feelings that you have.
