The body of the person or animal to be cremated is placed into a super heated oven which burns the remains leaving only ashe residue which is then swept up and given to the deceaseds relatives/ owner etc.
For a practical demonstration place a french fry on a cookie sheet place it in your oven and cook until it turns to ashe.. Same concept as cremation only the crematorium oven is much hotter and turns even bone to ash..

The cremation process begins with the placement of the casket/container in the cremation chamber where it's subjected to intense heat and flame reaching temperatures between 1,400 and 1,800 degrees fahrenheit. All substances are consumed except bone fragments (calcium compounds) and any non-combustible materials, such as jewelry, dental gold, prosthesies, latches, hinges, etc., that were not removed prior to cremation as the temperature is not sufficient to consume them.
During the cremation process, it may be necessary to open the cremation chamber and reposition the deceased in order to facilitiate a complete and thorough cremation.

A furnace is brought up to a very high temperature, maybe 1000 degrees. At this point the body is put in for a time, until it is burned. After this the remains are taken out and ground up (bones and teeth) that may not have burned. The ashes are then either disposed of or placed in an urn for the family.

A number of changes take place in the body during the period after death. The body starts to become stiff after around three hours as a result of rigor mortis, before relaxing again after thirty hours. Blood drains from capillaries in the skin of the upper surface, and collects in blood vessels in the lower surface. Fluids may leak from natural body openings, particularly if decomposition is allowed to occur. Hospital staff 'lay out' the body of someone who dies in hospital, washing the body, placing the hands on the chest or lap, applying bandages to keep the mouth and limbs in position, and packing absorbent material around the body openings. These activities can also be performed by a funeral director or family member in the case of deaths at home. Funeral directors may apply make up, to mask the pallid appearance, and they can also embalm the body if required. Preservatives are injected into the circulatory system during the embalming process, and this treatment slows the rate of decomposition by a making the body unsuitable for the growth of bacteria and insects. Full arterial embalming is required by law if the body is to be 'buried' in an above-ground vault or if the body is held without refrigeration in the care of a funeral director. This situation often arises when the body is made available for viewing or for extended vigils. Embalming can only be performed by a qualified and registered embalmer.

The remains is all but ash. After that it depends now to the surviving relatives' tradition and practice. Others throw them in the sea or river while others put it in an urn and place it in the altar in their homes

Your body is incinerated, and the ashes are put in a small jar, which is usually given to a family member.
