No.. It's not normal.. only high ranking people and people of great faith experience this.
Omar Ibn Al Khattab used to cry till he had two black lines in his face of crying.. and Abu Bakr used to cry till his beard is soaked.
Dzulnun Al Misrey; used to cry to the extent he didn't feel the presence of the police officers of the Caliph when they were surrounding him, waiting for his prayers to finish to arrest him.
Allah سبحانه و تعالى says about these people:
"They fall down on their faces, weeping, and it increaseth humility in them." 12: 16
"We guided and chose. When the revelations of the Beneficent were recited unto them, they fell down, adoring and weeping. " 19: 58
And He promised them:
"For them; There are Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they are secure for ever, Allah taking pleasure in them and they in Him. That is the great triumph. " 5: 119

Dear sister, it's not only normal to feel shameful for bad things you have done during Salat, it's also good and Allah loves that, you know why, because this is a sign of repentance to Allah from your bad deeds, repentance begins with regretting these deeds.
Be sure that your Salat if done as it should be, on time and with Khosho' , it will, for sure, make you stop those bad deeds.
My Allah guide us all to the way He likes, Amen.

You are allowed to pray every Salat at home with the exception of Jummah. Pray at home its as simple as that. When your strength comes then I am sure you will find it easier to go to Mosque more often, insha Allah. A couple of minutes 5 times a day is not a lot to ask. You probably spend more time on this PC in a half an hour that you would doing all your prayers. Do you have time to watch tv? Time to play football? Time goes quickly salat is over in minutes, eternity is forever.

I suppose it's good to feel this way about the wrongs you have done, it shows intentions and regret. However I don't think you should obsess about them. Allah tells us His mercy is greater than His justice, so that we can feel comfortable and secure. We are a falliable creature, we make mistakes. Allah knows this, and that's why He is so forgiving. I too get emotional during salat, but mostly during Taraweeh. That's when the waterworks go off, lol!
I think there are a lot of people out there as well who feel no emotion during salat, who don't feel regret, don't feel the presence of God even during prayer, and I think those of us that do should be thankful that we are so close to Him.
A lot of sincere answers here from non-Muslims, and although I'm not the one who asked the question, thank you guys for your kindness. As you can see from some other answers, kindness is a rarity, lol!

Who could blame you? What could we be without Allah SWT?
As for feeling nervous, there was a man ( i can't remember his name, but i think it was umar ibn al khattab) who would always grow very pale while he made salah. when he was asked why, he said it was because he was standing in the presence of Allah SWT! it's okay to be nervous, you're praying to the One who created the entire universe!
If you truly feel unworthy of being in Allah's presence, that means you are a humble Muslim, right? And that's something really great, mashaallah! I only wish I could cry in my salah & feel less proud than how proud I feel. Alhamdulillah you're not like that.
Remember Adam (as) & Eve, how when they were banished to Earth, they spent countless nights truly repenting for what they've done? And then God forgave them.
If you truly are sorry for whatever things you've done, inshaallah Allah SWT will forgive you, right? He is Al Rahim!
And as for your friends, just tell them why you cry in Salah. Is it because you love it so much and it's so beautiful? Is it because you cherish these precious moments with Allah SWT even though you feel so humble? It's okay to feel that way, because it's like a reality check. Let them know you're not depressed alhamdulillah if you haven't told them already.
that's all i got! Salaams!

Beautiful Muslim girl ... I am not a Muslim but I believe Allah would no doubt love you especially. You are just as worthy as every other Muslim is, man or woman, and because you feel so strongly about your faith, I would guess you make Allah smile. Lift your head and smile back. Okay?
:)

When a persons heart is soft and full of Takwah while they stand before their Lord... then it is very common for tears to cover their faces as they pray! Alhamdulillah!

My dear, you are not worthy to stand in front of God. But God loves you anyway.
You are correct in that you are are conscious of the fact that there is a vast divide between you, a sinful human being, and God the holy, the perfect, the loving.
And maybe you even understand that no amount of praying or no amount of following the rules and rituals can fundamentally change who we are on the inside.
Jesus said that we need to be born again, that God needs to send his Holy Spirit to be born inside us. Only the blood of Jesus shed on the cross can cleanse you from all of your sins. Jesus is the only way to truly know God and to truly receive forgiveness for all of your sins.
I pray you will one day know the love and peace and joy of being in Christ Jesus.
