First of all I heard you say you dont comb your hair with a hard bristle brush. Brush would indicate your actually brushing not combing, and if you dont have super straight hair in which you brush glides through I recommend not using brushes ever again. Use wide tooth combs to tame your hair. As for conditioners you may want to deep condition your hair once a week if that's too much than maybe every 2 weeks is better. Foods you should eat is lots an lots of vegetables and some rice, these are really good for hair health and have lots of vitamins so you dont have to forget your man made vitamins. You might want to cover your ends and sport buns for a while so your hair can recuperate.Lastly, moisterize the hair everyday without fail I hear sunsilk is pretty good. Nah, just kidd'n I know it's good I use it.

Breakage and lack of managability is usually due to dry hair. You don't know you're using a crappy conditioner until you finally use a good one. If you wash your hair everyday, please use a decent moisturizing conditioner. Loreal's Mega Moisture is awesome for dry hair. Use a reconstructing conditioner once a week. Two conditioners? Yes. Your hair is constantly put through stress what with brushes and combs, ponytails, blow driers and flat-irons. Reconstructors help the hair recover. This conditioner should state somewhere that it contains protein somewhere on the bottle, if it doesn't, it's not what you're looking for. Ion's Effective Care Treatment is definitely the best one for the buck. Following up with a leave-in conditioner before you blow-dry (or air dry) for good measure doesn't hurt. Infusium23 is a tried and true leave-in.
When using heat appliances, ALWAYS use a heat protectant serum or spray. Ceramic heat appliances (not all ceramic is equal, decent products are at least 50, really don't need to spend more than 100 on a flat iron or blow dryer) provides sleeker, smoother, softer, less-frizzy results. Invest in good beauty tools, your hair will thank you. PLEASE do not take a goldnhot flat-iron to your hair.

Adding an extensive amount of heat (straightening) causes serious breakage. If you straighten or curl your hair, try the Grahm Webb Soft finish spray. It's so amazing! There's no breakage and leave your hair uber soft. Try a Conair paddle brush on your hair and comb it too. That way it's not snarly and prevents breakage. good luck<3

use TRESemme anti-breakage shampoo and conditioner. dont blow dry or straiten or curl it, just let it air dry, while it is still damp use Garnier Fructis length and strength leave in conditioner. if your hair gets frizzy, use Garnier Fructis smoothing milk instant smoothing & frizz control (strong) along with what i said above. if your going somewhere where you want strait hair, use your blow dryer on the lowest temperature possible and use a brush to straiten it.

use a comb instead of a brush....that helps, also...try Redken Anti-Snap treatment....just rub it into the ends of your hair when its still wet after you get out of the shower, I use it and it actually stopped the ends of my hair from splitting!! you can buy it at most hair salons, i think it costs around $13.

Do NoT pUt MaYo In YoUr HaIr!!! it smells like booty and horrible to get out!! The Editor and Chief Allure Mag. on the Tyra Banks show said not to! sooo... yeah, listen to her!
i Have shitty hair too.. i use a hot oil treatment. warm up oil in the microwave (not too long!!) then use a wide tooth comb and glaze it through your hair till half is oiled up. then throw it up in a lose bun or like... 5 minutes then wash it out. only use shampoo.. too much conditioner is just going to make your hair look dirty. ALSO only put the oil on the hair, not on the scalp.

i have heard that mayo and egg (not mixed together, seperate) will help with breakage. just put it all through your hair, let it set about 10-15 mins. then wash as normal. this also is good for shine. hope this helps!
