Yes, global warming is the warming up of the planet. This warming has occurred of the last 100 years or so.

Several scientific studies indicate that the cause of this warming has been an increase of the sun's output. Prior to the beggining of this warming, the earth underwent several centuries of cooling known as the little ice age. This period of cooling was caused by a reduction in the sun's output known as the maunder minimum. As the sun's output had gone back up following that minimum period, the earth's temperature has gone up accordingly.

A study published in the Geophysical Research Letters proves that the increase solar irradiance over the last century is directly responsible for 80% of the warming over that period. Another study in the GRL looked at more recent solar trends using data obtained from satellites starting in the late 1970s. This study was performed by NASA. That study found that the increase in solar irradiance in that short period was significant enough that it would have caused significant warming if the trend had lasted over the entire century. An increase in solar output is responsible for most of the global warming over the last century.

Global Warming is the warming of the average world wide temperature over a period of time. The global temperature has always gone up and down. The effects can be immense. There can be glaciers in places that were once warm or cold areas can warm causing the melting of ice caps. These changes have the ability to cause some species of animals to go extinct if they can not adapt to the changing environment.

The issue that is greatly debated is whether the present period of global warming is being caused or accelerated by humans.

I think we could see the effects now by strong water floods and storms around the world.

when the earth is going to became warmer we will have more water vapor from oceans, then there will be more clouds in atmosphere that cause heavy raining and strong floods.
the increasing of the water vapor intensify the greenhouse effect and again this problem could increase the vapor in atmosphere and this will repeated continuously as a loop , so the earth warming will be faster than we think.

Some gases ("greenhouse gases") let sunlight in, which warms the Earth, and then block that heat from leaving. That's the "greenhouse effect", and it's a natural thing, mostly caused by water vapor.

Man is making excessive amounts of greenhouse gases, mostly by burning fossil fuels. That causes the delicate natural balance to go out of whack and the Earth warms. That's global warming.

It won't be a Hollywood style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.

Most scientists say, in 20-50 years. But we need to start right now to fix it, fixing it will take even longer than that.

It's a paranoid delusion of quacks that need something (however unreal it may be) to squawk about. Caused by the insane Chicken Little Syndrome, a brain pollution caused by listening to squawkers and trying to make up some logical meaning to their idiosyncrasies.
It really has to do with our erratic elliptic orbit around the Sun. It goes away on it's own without any "help" from man.
Don't worry about it. It don't worry about you.

To me global warming means "Global destabilization" since the weather around many parts of the world is not only getting warmer, it is just becoming more erratic with fiercer storms, colder and hotter weather, more floods, etc, so as to why they call it global warming I am not quite sure, but I really think that it should be called global destabilization.

At any rate, I have lots of info that I think you will find quite helpful and enlightening:

A liberal theory that is baiscly to explaing why the temperature is rising when in reality it is the natural cycle of the Earth. The Earth is always changeing climiate slowly but surely. We are in an upward trend right now. Humans did nothing to cause this and the liberals are just using this as an excues to raise are taxes in some way.

The revised phrase is climate change.

It's a increased separation of floods and droughts,
A melting of the icecaps,
Possible colder harsher winters, harsher hotter summers depending where you live.

It's also related to the URBAN HEAT ISLAND of which there is no denying. YOU CAN SEE and FEEL IT!
