If you've already had the chicken pox disease, is it still okay to get a chicken pox vaccine after that? It's been about a 7 years since my last chicken pox.

You do not need a varicella (chickenpox) vaccine if you have had the disease.

If you've had chicken pox, you should already be immune to the virus. And therefore don't need a vaccine.

But, you may be in for a painful illness later in life. People who have had chicken pox are highly likely to contract Shingles in their late 50's through 70's. But hey already have a vaccine for that, so no need to worry.

No. Once you had the chicken pox you are immunized already. The Varicella (Chickenpox) vaccine is basically a very mild dose of the chicken pox. Most people get a mild case after receiving this injection. It exposes you to the virus so your bodies memory cells will remember the exposure and not infect you again.

You're good.

You don't need the vaccine if you already had it.. your body already has the anti-bodies so you won't get it again. Heck even if you have never had it before the vaccination won't 100% PREVENT you from getting chicken pox.. but if you do get them after the vaccine it supposedly makes them not as severe

No...once you've had the chicken pox you don't need to get the vaccine because your body builds up antibodies that prevents you from getting them again.

There's no need for the vaccine, you already have the antibodies.
