How sould someone respond if someone else calls them good looking? Is it rude to say thank you? Would that give them the impression that the person they are complimenting is conceited and agrees with the statement?
BTW, This is a hypothetical question.

Saying thank you is OK. The only way that you might seem conceited is if you act smug or hostile.

The response really depends upon the individual receiving the compliment. While offering a simple "thank you" is customary for most, some people are painfully shy. In this type of situation usually a sincere smile in lieu of words is sufficient.
Also, bear in mind that there are certain geographic regions where direct acknowledgment of another's appearance and/or reciprocation by the one acknowledged, is still considered quite bold.

the proper answer is saying thank you and accept the compliments .and thats it and no it's not rude you are just agreeying with some thing good that someone said about you be happy and chill out. peace out.

If someone says that you are good-looking or beautiful, respond by saying thank you. Because everyone is "beautiful" in their own way. We are ALL GODS CHILDREN....

If it's someone I don't know well, I say thank you and compliment them on something (like their shoes). But if it's someone I know I say "Thank you so much. You know what? I think YOU'RE pretty!"
