it to Hell? And if your body somehow made it to Hell, wouldn't it burn up very quickly, so it could hardly burn forever. Is there some flawed logic here somewhere? (Please don't tell me that God can do the impossible or that we mere mortals can't expect to understand how God does the illogical!)

Pagan teaching. The word Hell was never in the original text of the Holy Scriptures. The words used were in Hebrew and Greek, Sheol and Hades. Both these words mean, 'mankind's common grave'. Remember when Lazarus died? He was dead for 4 days, must have been getting pretty ripe wouldn't you say? Jesus brought him back from the dead and did he ever say he was in Heaven? He never said a word about it. If he was, that would have been very cruel, to bring him back to earth again after being in Heaven.

The Biblical terminology "Forever" has many different meanings 1. Etternally 2. until the thing is consumed 3 the lifespan of a human being. Sodom and Gomorra were said to have burned with etternal fire. can anyone point them out to me today? historians best clue as to where these two cities are, is UNDER the dead sea. Dead sea being the saltiest water and all also gives eveidence of lot's wife turning into a pillar of salt. (I try not to think about that to hard) see study guide from link below on is the Devil in charge of hell.

Well first off, the **hell** doctrine is man made. If you read scriptures, the wicked will be cast off in the fire & be eliminated. It gives illistrations like wood in a fire, or a branch, well yes it will end up in dust.
The wicked will be no more, & no longer in memory of Jehovah. The "soul" is actually the person, not this "spirit" like hollywood makes it to be(in genises God brethed new life into Adam & he became A LIVING SOUL), otherwise if a spirit were floating around up in Heaven or on the new earth there is no need for the resusrection & make our bodies new again!
So no the wicked will not burn forever in hell, they will actually be no more!

When a person is consigned to the depths and misery of hell that resurrected, immortal body will cease to feel pain. The misery of hell will not be a literal fire and brimstone abode, but it will be a tormenting place of mental anguish and woe. The torment will be AS a place of fire and brimstone, not being a place of fire and brimstone.

It will be all in the mind, knowing what could have been done in mortality, but wasn't.

You will have a body no matter where you go, Heaven or Hell, and the "burning" will not be by fire, but will be a mental anguish for all the wrongs that you have done. You will relive for eternity all the things that you did wrong in your life.

Ok, so you don't want any explanation. Maybe this will give help. (The whole section is in the link.)

Luke 16:22-24 -- 22"The time came when the beggar (Lazarus) died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'

In the book of Mark it describes hell as "a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth" "where the worm does not die and where the fire is not quenched" --so think about it, if a worm does not die there, (and look how easy it is to kill a worm, it dries up in the sun so quickly!) if it does not die in hell, how much more will those who reject the gospel of Jesus Christ not die there!
This is a place that I would wish upon no one-- there is a story in the Bible, that is about a man who was sent to hell- describing the suffering-- I will post it> Luke 16-
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell,[c] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'

25"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'

27"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'

29"Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'

30" 'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'

31"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.'

-And in Jude it reminds us who believe to "snatch them from the fire" -- to warn those who do not believe, before it is too late! God has given us a free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ- and the time is now! See Romans 10-- that if you confess with your mouth He is Lord and God raised Him from the dead, and believe with your heart you will be saved.

I suppose you have forgotten about the burning bush that Moses saw. It burned but was not consumed.
