My brother lives and works as a naturalist in the jungles of Ecuador and he uses plain white vinegar to stop the itching of mosquito bites. It does sting when you first apply it, though!

Get some goldenseal root powder capsules. Break one in a teaspoon. Add a couple of drops(just enough to make a paste. Place on band aid, place band aid over bite. Leave 24 hrs. Shower off, problem gone. It has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and is also an anti-biotic. The best thing for poison ivy too.

Make a paste of baking soda and water and put it on the bites. If you can get some Benadryl gel, that works really well.

this has always helped with my kids. Take salt and water and mix together, but make it really thick and rub it into your bite for a few minutes then take your finger nail and make an X over the bite..it really helps. and yes you can use meds to help but this works just fine..try it and let me know.......good luck to you.

Alcohol will dry them out and stop the itch. Callamine lotion will do wonders also, but it is white and it won't work if you wash it off.
