You are correct. Jesus was the Prince of Peace, not the Lord of War. He would not fight at all. Yes, he preached "love your enemies." This whole war thing is a distortion of our values. Our brave fighting men are being sacrificed for oil and Cheney's stock portfolio. What a disaster!
Look at the story of the Good Samaritan. That is Christian.
His one commandment "That ye love one another."
How can death and loving your neighbor go hand in hand?

If He didn't wipe out the occupying forces of the Roman army when He was on earth the first time, why would He go to war now? Part of the reason that He wasn't accepted by His own people is that they were expecting a warrior king who would destroy all their enemies, and when He didn't eliminate the Romans, Israel rejected Him.
I really can't see Him wearing a uniform and picking up a weapon to take another's life.

Jesus died of us and He will go to war when He returns. I'm a Christian not only do i support the war...i serve this country to the best of my ability.
the thing about it...not a lot of people actually know what's going on over there. they just watch the news, come up with their own conclusion and think that's how it is. until they actually go to basic, strap up their boots and walk on the Iraqi sand is when they will actually know the truth.

Jesus will go to war for Israel. It is written that he will destroy his enemies by the brightness of his coming.

No he would not. Neither he nor 1st century Christians would participate in the military or government of that day. Nor should we true Christians. Jesus said he and his followers were no part of the world.

No, He wouldn't.
If He were going to do that, He would have done it the first time.
