Well, I take it you're an american? The reason I ask is because the American accent will help you learn this sound. I actually learned this sound only about 3 years ago.
I could describe to you how to do it in your mouth, but that's awfully confusing and not really helpful. In some cases it is, but this one isn't.

There are a few basic phrases that if you repeat over and over, then you might be able to learn this sound. It worked for me. Now there are two phrases that can help. This is the one I used:
Pot of tea (pa da ti)
The second is:
Ed edited it.

The reason this works is because in American English when you have a or

between two vowels, it becomes what we call a flap, where the tongue flips up like 1 section of the trill. This is why those sounds in words like amongst others, have a type sound, even when there is a there.

So with these phrases we get a bunch of flaps. Now at first it might be a little bit of a tongue twister, but the faster you say it, and the more you drop the vowels, the closer to the trill (or rolling of the ).

Now in Spanish there is a difference between a flap and a trill. Like words such as (but) with a flap, and
(dog) with a trill.

Just pick one of those phrases and say them over and over, maybe over a few weeks, until you can produce a trill

Complaining approximately rolling R's is simply laziness. Or delight. Whichever suits. Don't fear approximately sounding like a dork, simply make the noise. It's no longer tough. Suck it up. Just do it. In the vast majority of international locations in this earth, folks roll their R's. Even in the event you attempted to wuss out and decide on another language, you would nonetheless become dealing with this ridiculous difficulty.

It's almost like saying d-d-d-d-d-d-d really fast. In fact, if you can't say a trilled r, say a really quick d, and most people won't even notice. The very tip of your tongue, a little rolled back if you can do it, should touch the roof of your mouth. It's almost the purring noise that a cat makes. The trick is just to play around with it, and not try very hard. You don't need a lot of air to produce the sound. Don't get frustrated with it, either. If you can't do it, just stop and try again another day (meanwhile, remember the d trick I taught you above.)

Have fun!

If you ever played 'gangsters' when you were a child, and you succeeded imitating the sound of a machine gun, p-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r, then you have the solution at the tip of your tongue... without the 'p' sound at the beginning, of course.

Hope it helps!

You have to use the tip of your tongue. It just kinda...vibrates? I don't know, it's natural for me. It sounds funny...but....yeah..
