Is it better to get a male dog or a female dog?

I am looking for an english bulldog and dont know which to get. Some people have told me female and others have said male but i dont know...

If you fix them it does not matter.
If you do not what do you want to do with it.
There is some thing people have said that bug them about male dogs. But can not write about it because of little childern on this form. Think about it.
I do not think that way so. Male or female is the same to me.

You should spend lots time with both genders to determine which one you get along with better. Some people have no preferences but some people, like me, do.

I prefer female dogs much better. They fit my personality better. In my opinion, male dogs are more protective and suspicious of strangers. They are harder to train and more into playing around. They are more aggressive and you really need to get on the ball with training them as puppies.

From my experience, female dogs have always been better behaved. They are smarter and easier to housebreak and train. They are calmer and more polite. They are not crazy like "must be fierce and protect my property raaar!!!" male dogs.

There are differences I know. Most of the male dogs (neutered or not) I have met have been rather bratty, fierce and troublesome. With the exception of a psycho Pomeranian, all the female dogs I have met have been calm and placid. They have been very polite and are more willing to listen.

I have a male dog and a female. I prefer my female much better. I will not be owning any more male dogs ever. They are just too much for me to handle mentally.

I would say female. We have had 5 dogs (now just 4 right now), and the 2 of the 3 females didn't get along really well, but I loved both of them better than the males. It may just depend on the dog you chose, since certain breeds have different tendencies and dogs have different personalities. Our large male retriever is fixed, but he is crazy and chews up things, goes to the bathroom in the house, and has lots of energy.

They all have different personalities but I favor the girls, they tend to be more trainable in my experience and the boys are super laid back but do end up trainable, just immature for longer....hey a lot like the human race!. I think you have to just make the decision, go and see which one you feel connected to and go with your gut.

Yes, it depends on which one you want, the males are more aggressive, but the female ones, you might not want to deal with when there in heat.

ive noticed female dogs dont seem to crave as much attention as the males.

and i recomend you have them fixed whatever you get as makes humo everything and are realy dominent if you dont and females leak everywhere and could end up with unwanted puppies

if you plan on getting it neutered i say male...
but if you dont i would say female...

i always tend to like male dogs better because female dongs can be quite moody and mean...

Depends on your preference. I myself prefer female dogs. I'd rather not see their parts....lol
