My mom won't let me have a AIM adress because she thinks i would get addicted to it and i would always be on it but i wouldn't stay on that long becasue after a while u have nothing to talk about and almost all of my friends have one a knowbody really will answer emails anymore because they can AIM what should i do??????

Well, tell her to set a limit of time you can be on it. And if you go over the limit, you have to stop using it. That way you both win. It may suck, but at least you would have it.

Best to listen to your mom & try asking again later. Don't get one without her knowing, If she finds out you have one she could take away your computer privileges. Just give it time. Or show her that when she ask you to get off the computer you do it. Some kids can be glued to this thing.

It's better just to drop the issue and show her you aren't going to obsess over something like this so she will say OK at a later time. You push her and she will just get mad. Trust her judgement, even if she might be mistaken.
