How about a 20x25 size room is that a good size for a master bedroom?

Hello Peaches:

Visit some model homes in your area for ideas. Surprisingly, the newer modular homes have some nice features. The best bedroom I ever saw had a decent size room for the bed, but had kind of like a hotel suite feel to it...the bed was in one room, they had a separate area for a sitting room, and two separate bathrooms with huge walk-through closets.

I think we all have our own opinions on how large we would like to have our rooms. It is best for you to measure your room right now and think about how much bigger or smaller you would like it to be. You could also measure another room in your house (living room or dining room for example) if it is more the size you would like.

You can also go by the size of your furniture. Measure your bed, night stands and dresser and what ever else you would like to put inside. Include how much walking room you would like too. This will help with your room measurements too.

I personally like to have a sitting area in my bedroom but have a half wall to separated it. That size would have to be considered if you are interested in doing that.

You are best just to play around and see what you like best.

It depends on how much and what kind of furniture you plan on putting in there. A bare minimum would be 12 x 15 for just a kingsize bed, 2 nightstands, and a couple of dressers. If you want a sitting area and plan on having a couch in there, and doing things in there other than sleeping, then go bigger. Personally, I'd rather spend my money on the square footage where I won't be sleeping.

Any size would be good. Think about what all you want to put into a bedroom. Measure each item. Then draw it out on a piece of scratch paper. Go from there on size.

Don't forget the pretty bathroom to go with the bedroom.

I would look at the furniture that you have and any pieces that you plan on buying. Take measurements and include areas to walk around them. You want everything to fit but not to look like its lost in the middle of a huge room.

actually,35x50 could be okay if you included a large walk in closet with closet system-- maybe even a laundry area off of walk in closet/dressing area. spa type baths can take up a good amount of space --- especially if you added a double sided fireplace which could be enjoyed from the bath or sitting area of the bedroom. see how easy it is to spend other peoples money??
