This is the most important decision for someone to make and it simply cannot be left to opinions, thoughts, feelings, sincerity, or what man says/teaches. As people are often mistaken in what they believe. Go to the Bible only. That is God's message (and also the greatest book but it's more than just a book, as well) to each person of how to become and remain in a right relationship with Him as well as providing all the answers we need to know and being scientifically, historically and prophetically accurate.
People may think what they want, but unless their beliefs or claims agree with the Bible, well then... The Bible already tells us what it takes to receive citizenship in Heaven and is inerrant (at least if you have a translation that is close to the original text). One passage I refer to that helps is Romans 6 (whole chapter).

Hi Elaine,
I will stand on the Biblical facts and not opinions. Below is a link that shows the plan of salvation, and what it takes for a person to go to heaven.
God Bless,
Chris

You need to recognize the fact that , like me, you are a sinner, and that you need to confess those sins & ask God's forgiveness. You need to believe with all your heart that God's Son , Jesus Christ came to this earth as a human, died on the cross for everyones' sins, and that all you need to do is reach out to Him in faith & accept the gift of salvation for which he died. He is very much alive now, waiting for the appointed hour that He will return and take all His followers with Him to heaven. If you truly have faith in Jesus, believe Jesus, not just believe " in " Him, you will be among those in heaven following the rapture( Second Coming ).

It isn't an opinion, it is a fact that if you accept Christ as your personal Savior, and confess with thy mouth that HE is the Son of God and shed his blood when HE was crucified on the cross at calvary to pay our sin debt IN FULL, then you shall be saved! That is what it takes to enter the Kingdom of Heaven!!

it Happen By Grace With Faith Condition, Because God Sacrifice His Only Son, To Wash And Clean Our Sins, Only Beleive Him (it is Free No Cost, But Many People Do not Want it), He Want Us To Maintain Our Self To Be His Disciples, Be A Good Disciples And People Will See We Are The Children And Disciples Of God, Do Not Do Like This Peoples Bad World Do (Evil Peoples), Best Regards, EddyLim777@yahoo.com.sg

I believe in the Bible record. Paul tells how to become a Christian and James goes more into detail about what is expected from us once we are already saved.
In a short way. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we are saved by His mercy and grace. Jesus is the only way to the heaven. : )

Because the church has confessionals, and there are several methods of penance, the "Getting into heaven" thing has been watered down.
It has always been my understanding that getting into heaven was the gateway to eternal happiness in the Afterlife. Right?
Eternal happiness or a life in purgatory...AFTER you're dead.
What it takes??? Professing your undying, unwaivering love for God on your day of reckoning. That's it.

My personal opinion is that in order to establish peace with God, one must pay attention to what Jesus said. Jesus is the founder of the religion of Christianity.
And this is what he said about that:
17 "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. "
If a person can understand what that means, then they have the possibility of believing it. If they believe it, then all they have to do is act on it. If they act on it, they are 'not condemned' by God.
Then I find out in John 16 that Jesus promised someone else would come to us:
7 "But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; 10 in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned."
The promise is that the person trusting God because they believe in Jesus, will have the Holy Spirit living symbiotically with the believer.
With those things, in my opinion, a person may be saved.

It's not my personal opinion, as that would be created God for my own liking, which is creating a false God, which is not following the second commandment.
God will judge us based on our sins, not our good acts. If we repent, the sins are forgotten, but if not, we will have to pay for them.

whilst Christians finally artwork out and agree precisely what's mandatory to pass to heaven that's going to be tremendous for Christianity. answer: Heaven isn't a place so which you will now not pass there. it is not approximately getting someplace (that's soooo finite), fairly it quite is approximately an unlimited adventure.
