I am looking for some new sandwich recipes for going back to school. I have the same thing every day, a turkey rueben. I also sometimes have Bagels n' Lox or egg salad. I was just wondering if there were any new, fresh, healthy ideas anybody had. I love fresh, healthy stuff, so a recipe like that would be great!! Also, it may need to be a bit easy, seeing as it's made in the morning before school. Anything that would sit well for a few hours in a cooled lunch box (my lunch box has an ice pack, btw) Also, I'd like it to be filling, because I do a lot of sports. Thanks a bunch!!

My favorite sandwich is turkey or chicken breast and/or any kind of cheese, sliced cucumbers, Tomatoes, just a sliver of red onion , alfalfa sprouts and lettuce of some sort on a chewy bread. Mix up some red wine vinegar, olive oil, garlic salt and a dash of oregano or sweet basil to shake on it right before you eat it. Maybe a little mayo once in a while too. Yum!

Get some torpedo bread rolls and split almost in half.
Use a lettuce leaf as a cup and fill with some ham, egg, tomato, celery etc.
Season to taste and insert into roll.
Wrap in cling film to hold it all together until lunch time.

Tuna mixed with a hard boiled egg, mayo and maybe some onion and sliced pickle. Spread on bread and add some lettece. It's filling and will hold up in your cooler until lunch time.

Yes, this was one of my favorite sandwiches. First you toast two pieces of bread (what ever kind you like), then on one of the toasted pieces put mustard, on top of the mustard put on lettuce and then a few slices of turkey meat or what ever kind of meat you like/have, add a few slices of tomato and some mayo if you like and then put the top on. There you have a delicious, healthy, home made turkey sandwich!

Get ready made pizza dough x2(or use a bread machine to make it) and fill it with cheese, meat and veggies then bake and cut into squares, you can do this with Tuna, and PBJ too, they even freeze well so will be defrosted by lunchtime and much healthier and more filling than commercially made types.
(PS: these are my kids favorites and I can cook 3 weeks worth at once.)

Anything goes well with tortilla wraps. Even just lettuce and tomatoes and cheese. I like my sandwiches with not just mayo but with sandwich spread. Right next to the mayo. good luck

One of my faves is tomato, cream cheese, and sprouts (or you could use lettuce). You could add some avocado for a little extra substance. On wheat bread....YUM!
