There's no way God's only taking 144,000. Far too many of you already have their right foot in Heaven

The Temple was the only location that a Jew could atone for his sin by sacrificing a perfect lamb.

Jesus was saying that His death and Resurrection would be the ultimate sacrifice that forgave all sin for all humanity....destroying the stone temple. But replacing it with a holy, innocent sacrifice

He referred to himself as the temple, his perfect human life. He knew he was to die shortly afterwards. He also knew he would be resurrected by his Father after 3 days in a spirit "body". When he did this, there would be no more need for earthly temples as was there in Jerusalem. For Christians, the temple would from then on be spiritual.

He was talking about ripping away all of the current thoughts on religion...destroy them and remake them anew. He did it in three days...because the resurrection took three days.
