it's a nice thing to do- but you're not expected to in the same way that you would in a sit-down restaurant. i usually throw the change they give me in- unless it's like a penny, then i obviously put more in....fifty cents to a dollar maybe?

you aren't going to get dirty looks for NOT tipping, but if it's a place you go often, it could easily step up the service...plus, it's a nice thing to do.

Heck No!!! A tip should be for someone who goes beyond what is expected in serving you. It's just another way they get you to finance their operation.

i always carry little pre-written slips of paper in my purse, that way when i come across a box like that, i can slip into my purse, and pull one out to place inside the box. these tips have tidbits of advice, and sometimes my phone number on them.

They appreciate it, but, only do it if you thought the service was decent, or have money to spare.

You don't have to feel obligated to.
