It would be nice. I have misplaced a remote a time or two. But the average TV or DVD remote is a one-way device and uses infra-red light from an LED for the control link. To include a page function would mean installing an RF receiver in the remote and transmitter in the TV or whatever. You couldn't use infra-red signaling because it needs line-of-sight to work. If it's under a pillow or behind the sofa it couldn't see the IR to respond.

I think it's a great idea. We are always losing the remote around the house. However, the pager would have to be a button on the TV that would make the remote beep; it couldn't be only part of the remote. I have no idea whether this has ever been made.

Wires is quite accurate.

An RF transmitter/receiver adds cost. In addition, the RF detection circuit would have to be permanently "on" (so you can find it), which means your battery will dry really fast.
You could add a recharchable battery and a power dock, but that's extra cost.

Alternative: Go to Sharper image (or other store) and buy small RF transmitters you can attach to keys, remotes, etc.
(You will notice however, that the battery goes out really fast!!)
